Amentum is seeking experienced Helicopter Pilots (Instructors) to provide flight instruction for the UH-72 aircraft at Fort Rucker, Alabama. This role involves mentoring and coaching student pilots through intensive training programs designed for military aviation careers.
About the Role
Amentum instructors are responsible for delivering comprehensive flight training to prepare student pilots for their future roles. The organization maintains a strong emphasis on safety, evidenced by a significant record of flight instruction hours within a large operational airspace. Military aviation experience or UH-72 qualification is not a prerequisite for this position.
Requirements

Possession of an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate.

Possession of an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates; or be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.

A minimum of 1500 hours of total flight time. Flight time as pilot-in-command or second-in-command (per FAR 61.51) or as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Pilot (PI) (Per AR 95-1) in aircraft of any weight or category is creditable.

Certification of a combination of 100 hours of hooded instrument time, flight simulator instrument time, or weather pilot time.

Prior experience instructing students in instrument flight training.

A minimum of 75 hours of night flying experience.

A minimum of 500 hours of instructor time.

A current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate is required prior to commencing training.

For Basic Warfighter Skills applicants: Must be certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified and possess 200 hours of NVG time.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of such authorization.

Applicants are subject to Government approval and the terms of a 12-month Employee Agreement.
