Aviation Job Description: HEMS Pilot

A distinguished opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and experienced HEMS Pilot to join a leading provider of mission-critical helicopter services, encompassing air ambulance, police, and offshore sectors. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Norwich, Norfolk. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a dynamic team committed to excellence and the highest standards of aviation practice.

Role: HEMS Pilot

Location: Norwich, Norfolk

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC clearance.

Responsibilities:

The HEMS Pilot will operate the H145 D3, engaging in varied and challenging flying duties across a range of disciplines, including HEMS and NVIS operations. The role requires exceptional flying skill and the ability to perform to the highest standards.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1000 hours as pilot in command of aircraft, with 500 hours as pilot in command on a twin-turbine helicopter.
  • Alternatively, 1000 hours as a co-pilot in HEMS operations, including 500 hours as pilot in command under supervision, and 100 hours as pilot in command on twin-turbine helicopters.
  • A minimum of 2000 hours total helicopter experience.
  • 500 hours of operating experience on twin-turbine helicopters in an operational environment similar to the intended operation.
  • 20 hours of VMC at night as pilot in command.
  • Current or recent HEMS experience is essential.
  • Proven experience of flight using Night Vision Goggles.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a UK ATPL(H) license.
  • Must possess fluent English language skills, a valid driving license, a current passport, and have the right to work in the UK.
  • Qualified and instrument rated on the EC145.
