This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient operation of assigned company aircraft, serving the critical travel needs of executive leadership and vital missions. The Corporate Pilot will be responsible for comprehensive flight planning, meticulous operational coordination, and maintaining the highest levels of professional proficiency. This position demands an aviation professional committed to upholding the most stringent standards of safety and operational excellence within a dynamic corporate aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Flight Operations and Planning: Safely and efficiently operate assigned company aircraft. Responsibilities encompass meticulous flight plan routing, strategic fuel management, continuous monitoring of Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs) and Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs), and the thorough evaluation of other critical operational factors to ensure mission success.
- Operational Coordination: Collaborate effectively with the Flight Services Administrator to manage all aspects of trip logistics. This includes airfield selection and suitability assessment, arrangement of passenger services, catering, crew accommodation, and ground transportation, ensuring a seamless and high-quality travel experience.

This requires diligent independent study of operational manuals and aviation regulations. The Corporate Pilot must successfully complete bi-annual simulator training sessions and stringent FAA Pilot-in-Command evaluations.
- Safety Leadership: When designated as Captain, the Corporate Pilot assumes full responsibility and accountability for the safety of the aircraft, its passengers, the crew, and the successful completion of the mission. This includes close coordination with the maintenance crew to confirm aircraft airworthiness, ensuring all non-deferred discrepancies are cleared, or Minimum Equipment List (MEL) procedures are meticulously followed prior to flight.
- Passenger and Crew Briefing: Conduct comprehensive passenger briefings on all pertinent trip details, including emergency procedures, the location of emergency equipment, estimated time enroute, prevailing weather conditions, and any anticipated delays. Completion of required Cabin Emergency Training is mandatory, with a willingness to assist passengers as needed.
- Post-Flight Procedures: Accurately complete all electronic post-flight logs and perform thorough post-flight inspections. This includes resetting the cabin condition and stocking for subsequent trips to maintain operational readiness.
- Communication and Decision-Making: Proactively advise the L3Harris Technologies Director of Flight and maintenance crew on aircraft status, particularly at the completion of flying duties or if an aircraft is grounded. The Corporate Pilot will exercise sound judgment to initiate delays or cancel flights when operational conditions warrant, promptly notifying passengers and developing contingency plans in consultation with operations.
- Crew Management: Effectively delegate necessary duties to the Second-in-Command to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient conduct of the flight, fostering a collaborative and effective cockpit environment.
- General Duties: Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot and demonstrate consistently effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
