Air Weapons Systems Instructor (CF-18)
An exciting challenge awaits the next Air Weapons Systems Instructor. This position focuses on providing expert instruction in aircraft maintenance, specializing in the CF-18 platform. The instructor will deliver specialized entry-level maintenance courses to students, encompassing both the theoretical and practical aspects of maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Teach operating principles and participate in hands-on training exercises.
- Attend required training and information sessions.
- Ensure compliance with all tooling control regulations.
- Consult training programs, ITFCs, work processes, and related documentation, contributing to updates of relevant training material.
- Accurately complete inspection sheets, forms, sets, logs, and other required aircraft documentation.
- Adhere to safe work practices.
- Perform tasks assigned by the Lead Instructor, Team Leader, and Supervisor.
- Comply with all relevant administrative and technical regulations pertaining to health and safety, flight safety, documentation and record-keeping, work instructions, and process specifications.
- Provide training and mentorship in the following CF-18 maintenance areas: Aircraft Maintenance Support Equipment (AMSE), Suspension and release equipment, and Weapon systems and guns.
Required Skills and Experience:
- College or high school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and Windows environment.
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in CF-18 maintenance.
- Adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in quality control, or relevant experience in the field, is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism (French and English) with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages is required due to contractual obligations.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Status and Secret Level 2 / NATO Secret security clearance.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
