Job Title: Air Weapons Systems Instructor

Role Overview

In this capacity, the Air Weapons Systems Instructor will act as a subject matter expert for the CF-18. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching specialized entry-level maintenance courses, delivering both theoretical and practical training for all CF-18 maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom instruction on operating principles and facilitate hands-on maintenance training.
  • Provide mentorship and training in key areas, including Aircraft Maintenance Support Equipment (AMSE), suspension and release equipment, and weapon systems and guns.
  • Ensure compliance with technical regulations, health and safety protocols, flight safety standards, and tooling control procedures.
  • Manage documentation, including inspection sheets, logs, and maintenance records.
  • Review and update training materials, including ITFCs, work processes, and curriculum documentation.
  • Execute tasks as assigned by the Lead Instructor, Team Leader, or Supervisor.

Required Skills and Experience

  • High school or college diploma (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in CF-18 maintenance.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and French), with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and Windows environments.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize complex workflows.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience in quality control is considered an asset.

Mandatory Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2 / NATO Secret security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements of U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
