Second in Command – Hawker 900XP

Location: Naples, FL (Full-Time)

Jet Linx invites applications for the position of Second in Command (SIC) for its Midsize jet aircraft fleet, specifically the Hawker 900XP, supporting both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. This full-time role is based in Naples, FL. Candidates are required to reside in or be willing to relocate to the base area, ensuring readiness for a 2-hour call-out time from their home base, reflecting a commitment to operational responsiveness.

Position Summary

The Second in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot, playing a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. This position demands strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures, contributing significantly to Jet Linx's unwavering commitment to aviation excellence and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages duty, flight, and rest periods in strict accordance with company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
  • Maintains consistent communication with company dispatch for standby assignments, trip notifications, position reports, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight documentation.
  • Proficiently manages Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications, ensuring operational readiness and data integrity.
  • Verifies the currency and accessibility of all navigation charts, publications, and company operational manuals.
  • Holds and maintains a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate, ensuring ongoing fitness for duty.
  • Demonstrates exceptional, proactive decision-making abilities in all operational scenarios, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
  • Embodies and upholds Jet Linx's core values in every professional interaction, fostering a culture of integrity and excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Total Flight Time: 1,500 hours
  • Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
  • Turbine Time: 100 hours
  • Instrument Time: 150 hours

Additional Requirements

  • Preferred: Initial or recurrent FAR Part 142 training in type completed within the last 24 months.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Holds a current, valid passport.
  • Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate or the ability to obtain one.
  • Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Possession of an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with random drug/alcohol testing protocols.
  • Unrestricted travel capability to Canada and Caribbean nations.
  • Successful completion of an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review with a System Chief Pilot.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Comfortable working predominantly within aircraft and terminal environments.
  • Capable of frequently lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting base annual salary for this position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000, determined by geographic location, aircraft size (crew positions), and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
