Summary of Position
The Pilot-in-Command of company aircraft is directly responsible for the safety of all passengers and crew, alongside the comfortable and timely operation of the aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Determines aircraft airworthiness and readiness for flight, ensuring compliance with all FAA and Company regulations.
- Supervises the flight crew, overseeing all flight and ground operations to ensure adherence to FAA, ICAO, and Company regulations during the transport of personnel, equipment, or supplies under various conditions.
- Exercises exceptional judgment and vigilance during flight, adeptly managing irregularities and adverse weather to ensure the safety of passengers and company property, making informed decisions regarding delays, rerouting, or cancellations.
- Oversees passenger and baggage loading, verifying aircraft performance data, weight, and balance are within certifiable limits.
- Coordinates flight planning with operational and scheduling personnel, communicating arrival/departure times, weather information, and addressing other passenger requirements.
- Ensures the proper servicing, secure storage, and protection of company aircraft and equipment while away from the home base.
- Authorizes purchase orders for contracted fees and services, conducts post-flight aircraft inspections, and reports any malfunctions or operating data to the maintenance department.
- Adheres strictly to directions outlined in flight operations manuals and related procedures.
- Actively participates in the Aviation Safety Management system and performs general departmental duties when not actively flying.
Education & Training Requirements
- Possesses aeronautical experience and education sufficient to demonstrate the required skill and judgment.
- Holds a valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot license (Multi-Engine Land).
- Is Turbojet Type Rated.
- Demonstrates detailed knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, the Airman's Information Manual, Air Traffic Control procedures, and aircraft systems.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2,500 logged flight hours.
- Minimum of 750 logged flight hours as pilot-in-command of jet aircraft.
- G-VII Experience is preferred.
- International Flight Operations Experience is preferred.
- Requires a current FAA First Class Medical certificate.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work at the Corporate Headquarters - Flight Operations facility Monday through Friday, with availability for weekend, evening, and holiday duties as needed.
- Ability to travel internationally, including possession of a valid passport.
- Must reside within a commutable driving distance of the Flight Operations facility in Virginia.
- Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by the start date, unless a medical or religious exception applies.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 62 pounds for tasks such as removing an emergency exit window, loading passenger baggage, and deploying a life raft in emergency situations.
