Job Summary
A highly qualified and professional Pilot-in-Command is sought to assume primary operational responsibility for the corporate aircraft. This pivotal role ensures the paramount safety of passengers and crew, while executing comfortable, efficient, and timely flight operations in strict adherence to global regulatory standards and Company policy.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
The Pilot-in-Command is tasked with the comprehensive management and execution of all flight operations, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Determine and confirm that the aircraft is fully airworthy and prepared for flight in accordance with all governing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and internal Company standards.
- Supervise the entire flight crew, ensuring that all flight and ground operations, including the transport of personnel, equipment, or supplies, comply strictly with FAA, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and Company regulations under all operating conditions (day, night, and instrument flight rules).
- Exercise extreme care, proficiency, and sound judgment during flight operations, maintaining alertness to cope with irregularities, adverse weather conditions, and unexpected events. Determine the appropriate course of action (including possible delays, rerouting, or flight cancellations) to guarantee the safety of passengers and Company property.
- Oversee the detailed loading of passengers and baggage, verifying that aircraft performance data, weight, and balance computations remain within all certified operational limits.
- Coordinate all aspects of flight planning directly with operational and scheduling personnel to advise passengers of accurate arrival and departure times and weather information, resolving any logistical or passenger requirements.
- Guarantee the proper servicing, security, protection, and storage of Company aircraft and associated equipment while operating away from the home base.
- Manage necessary logistical transactions, including issuing purchase orders and signing for all contracted services and fees.
- Execute a thorough post-flight inspection of the aircraft and report all noted malfunctions and relevant operating data directly to the maintenance department.
- Maintain strict adherence to all directions and standard operating procedures contained in relevant flight operations manuals.
- Proactively participate in the established Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) and fulfill other essential general department duties when not conducting flight operations.
Education and Training Requirements
- Candidates must possess aeronautical experience and education sufficient to demonstrate the high level of skill and judgment required for this executive position.
- Must possess an active FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license, Multi-Engine Land rated.
- Must hold a current and valid Turbojet Type Rating.
- Demonstrate detailed and comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), the Airman’s Information Manual (AIM), Air Traffic Control (ATC) procedures, and complex aircraft systems.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum total flight time logged: 2,500 hours.
- Minimum pilot-in-command (PIC) time logged in jet aircraft: 750 hours.
- Experience operating the G-VII aircraft is highly preferred.
- Previous experience managing complex International Flight Operations is highly preferred.
- Must hold a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
Operational and Physical Requirements
- The incumbent must be willing to work primarily at the Corporate Headquarters Flight Operations facility (Virginia), requiring availability Monday through Friday, with flexibility for necessary coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel internationally is mandatory; a valid passport is required.
- The incumbent must reside within a reasonable, commutable driving distance of the Flight Operations base located in Virginia.
- The role requires the ability to physically lift and move up to 62 pounds to manage essential tasks, including the removal of the emergency exit window, bringing passenger baggage into the aircraft via the baggage door, and launching the life raft in emergency situations.
- Full compliance with the COVID-19 vaccination policy is required by the start date, unless documented medical or religious exceptions apply.
