Captain, Challenger 605
Jet Aviation, a leading provider of aviation services since 1967, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Captain to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware (KILG). As an integral part of our Flight Services division, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Challenger 605 aircraft.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Lead Captain, the Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of all flight assignments. The Captain exercises ultimate authority for the safe operation of the flight and adheres strictly to company operating policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining departure times, routes, and making decisions regarding flight cancellations based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the flight.
- Implement necessary changes en route to maintain safe and compliant flight operations.
- Conduct flights in accordance with industry and company standards, prioritizing safety and prudence.
- Complete all trip paperwork accurately and timely, adhering to established procedures.
- Establish clear communication and understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies on the designated log and promptly report them to the Director of Maintenance or their designee.
- Ensure the flight crew is properly attired, mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtain up-to-date weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized sources.
- File or initiate the filing of flight plans with the FAA or relevant ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for the intended landing airport and alternates.
- Fulfill the responsibilities of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the applicable security program.
- Conduct or delegate passenger safety briefings to the Second in Command.
- Train and prepare the Second in Command to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in emergency situations or during their upgrade to Pilot in Command in the aircraft.
- Complete and submit the leg manifest to Operations Control prior to each departure.
- Complete and submit the End of Day (EOD) report to Operations Control after each flight day.
- Actively support the open sharing of information on safety issues and report all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate tasks as needed while remaining ultimately accountable for their execution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Represent Jet Aviation as a unified company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Qualifications:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating (Challenger 605).
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing time.
- Minimum 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land time.
- Minimum 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command time.
- Minimum 1,500 hours Turbojet time.
- Minimum 1,500 hours Turbine time.
- Minimum 100 hours Night time.
- Minimum 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument time.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
- Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands:
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling, feeling, or reaching.

Work Environment:
- Work in a heavy maintenance environment and upscale customer areas.
- Moderate noise level with occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals/departures.
- Frequent exposure to vibration.
- Occasional fuel fumes.
- Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Loud noise level in the Hangar environment.
- Extreme temperature fluctuations during certain seasons.
