Captain – Gulfstream 500 (Wichita, KS)

Position Summary:
The Captain will report to the Lead Captain, assuming full Pilot-in-Command (PIC) authority for all assigned flights. Primary responsibilities encompass the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Gulfstream 500 aircraft, prioritizing safety, security, and superior customer service. The Captain will exercise final authority over all flight-related decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Gulfstream 500 Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4,000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
- 1,500 hours multi-engine land experience.
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command time.
- 1,500 hours turbojet experience.
- 1,500 hours turbine time.
- 100 hours night flight experience.
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument flight experience.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
- Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities:
The Captain's duties include, but are not limited to:
- Safe aircraft operation, including flight planning, route determination, and flight cancellation based on weather or other operational considerations.
- Strict adherence to all applicable federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Proactive adaptation to en-route conditions, ensuring continued flight compliance with company standards.
- Conducting all flights in a safe and prudent manner, upholding industry best practices.
- Accurate and timely completion of all flight documentation.
- Comprehensive briefing of the First Officer on all flight aspects.
- Thorough documentation and reporting of aircraft discrepancies to the Director of Maintenance.
- Verification of flight crew fitness for duty.
- Maintaining expert knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Securing the aircraft post-flight.
- Obtaining and utilizing current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs.
- Filing flight plans with appropriate authorities.
- Thorough chart analysis for intended and alternate airports.
- Compliance with TSA Flight Security Coordinator (FSC) regulations.
- Conducting or assigning passenger safety briefings.
- Mentoring and training the First Officer.
- Timely submission of flight manifests and end-of-day reports.
- Active participation in safety reporting programs.
- Immediate reporting of safety hazards and concerns to appropriate management.
- Representing Jet Aviation professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
