Position Summary:
The Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Challenger 605 aircraft, adhering to all applicable company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. As the Pilot in Command, the Captain exercises ultimate authority over all aspects of the flight, ensuring passenger and crew safety and providing an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, including determining departure times and routes, and managing flight operations based on weather conditions and other relevant factors.
- Ensure strict adherence to all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implement necessary adjustments to the flight plan as required by en route conditions.
- Maintain a safe and efficient flight operation in accordance with industry best practices and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip paperwork in accordance with established procedures.
- Establish clear communication with the co-pilot regarding all aspects of the flight.
- Log and report aircraft discrepancies to the Director of Maintenance or their designee promptly.
- Ensure the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is mentally and physically fit.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage as required.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS.
- File or arrange for the filing of flight plans with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the applicable security program.
- Conduct passenger safety briefings or delegate this task to the co-pilot.
- Train and mentor the co-pilot to prepare them to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in emergency situations or upon their promotion to Captain.
- Complete and submit leg manifests to Operations Control prior to each departure.
- Complete and submit End of Day (EOD) reports to Operations Control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively participate in promoting a culture of open safety communication and report all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate tasks as necessary, but maintain full responsibility for all duties.
- Represent Jet Aviation professionally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Qualifications:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum 4,000 hours of Total Fixed Wing experience.
- Minimum 1,500 hours of Multi-Engine Land experience.
- Minimum 2,000 hours of Pilot-in-Command experience.
- Minimum 1,500 hours of Turbojet experience.
- Minimum 1,500 hours of Turbine time.
- Minimum 100 hours of Night experience.
- Minimum 75 hours of Actual or Simulated Instrument experience.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
- Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands:
This position requires the ability to handle, feel, or reach with hands and fingers, stand, walk, and sit frequently. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally, including lifting above the head. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The Captain will work in a variety of environments, including heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer areas. The noise level is typically moderate, with occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals and departures. Employees may be exposed to vibration, occasional fuel fumes, and varying weather conditions. The hangar environment can experience extreme temperatures during certain seasons.
