Essential Pilot Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)
Candidates must meet all Transport Canada regulations and possess the minimum flight experience requirements:
- Total Flying Time: Minimum of 500 hours total flying time. (Applicants must clearly detail a breakdown of flying hours, including multi-engine time, on their resume.)
- Licensing: Valid Transport Canada Commercial Pilots License (CPL).
- Ratings: Valid Transport Canada Multi Engine rating.
- Instrument Rating: Valid and Current Transport Canada Group 1 Instrument Rating; must currently meet the instrument recency requirements.
- Medical Certificate: Valid Transport Canada Class 1 Medical.
- Written Exams: Must have completed the IATRA written exam in the past two years or have written all ATPL exams.
- Proficiency: Candidates must meet the Transport Canada English proficiency standard.
- Education: Must have completed a High School diploma.
- Security and Travel: Must be able to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and hold a current passport at the time of hire.
- Citizenship/Residency: Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident without restrictions. Permanent Residents must be able to obtain and maintain necessary crew visa documentation required for aircraft operations within the USA.
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
Preference will be extended to applicants whose qualifications exceed the basic requirements. Highly sought assets include:
- Possession of a Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- Experience in two-crew multi-engine turbine operations.
- Higher total flying time significantly above the 500-hour minimum.
- Graduation from an accredited Aviation College degree or diploma program.
- Previous commercial or military flight experience.
- Experience with Flight Management Systems (FMS) and/or glass cockpit technology.
- An internal Jazz referral.
