Scope of Operation:
- Approximately 450 daily flights operated
- Serving approximately 67 destinations across Canada and the United States
- Carrying 8 million passengers annually
- Operating from four crew base locations: Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver
Role Description
The First Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining Jazz's impeccable safety record and delivering exceptional customer service. This position offers an opportunity to operate modern aircraft across diverse routes within North America, supported by a professional and highly skilled flight operations team dedicated to mentorship and development.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for the First Officer position must meet the following essential requirements:
- A valid and current Transport Canada Group 1 Instrument Rating; applicants must currently meet instrument recency requirements.
- A valid Transport Canada Commercial Pilot License.
- A valid Transport Canada Multi-Engine Rating.
- A valid Transport Canada Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Successful completion of the IATRA written examination within the past two years, or completion of ATPL examinations.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
- Possession of a current passport at the time of hire.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident without restrictions. Permanent Residents must also be able to obtain and maintain all necessary crew visa documentation required to operate aircraft within the USA.
- A completed High School diploma.
- Demonstrated English proficiency meeting Transport Canada standards.
- A minimum of 500 hours total flying time.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who possess qualifications beyond the basic requirements, demonstrating an enhanced suitability for the role:
- Possession of a Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- Two-crew multi-engine turbine experience.
- Total flying time significantly exceeding the minimum requirement.
- Graduation from an accredited Aviation College degree or diploma program.
- Commercial or military flight experience.
- Experience with Flight Management System (FMS) and/or glass cockpit technology.
- An internal Jazz referral.
