Flight Operations Instructor Position at Frontier Airlines

Position Overview:
The Flight Operations Instructor will conduct simulator-based training for Frontier Airlines pilots, encompassing initial and upgrade training on Airbus A320 systems, company procedures, relevant FAA regulations, and emergency protocols. This role involves utilizing flight training devices (FTDs) and full-flight simulators (FFSs) to deliver high-quality instruction and effective feedback. The successful candidate will be responsible for lesson planning, simulator preparation, maintaining current aviation publications, and meticulously documenting all training activities and outcomes. The position requires a minimum of 16 training days per month for external candidates. Internal candidates will receive a minimum of 88 hours per month, equating to an annual salary of $150,000.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive initial and upgrade training programs, including A320 systems, Frontier Airlines policies and procedures, and applicable FAA regulations.
- Prepare pilots for flight evaluations through effective instruction and constructive feedback.
- Develop and maintain training materials and lesson plans.
- Manage training records, ensuring accurate documentation of all activities and participant performance.
- Assist senior instructors and department management as needed.
- Contribute to the design and development of training courses.
- Collaborate with the Flight Training Manager to address and resolve training-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience as a Simulator Instructor/Evaluator or in a comparable training role is highly preferred.
- Part 121 aircraft training experience is preferred.
- ATP certificate with an A320 type rating is preferred.
- Current and valid airman certificate, class rating, and type rating are mandatory.
- Completion of Frontier Airlines A320 training (or equivalent bridge program) and required recurrent training is necessary.
- Current Proficiency Check (PC) and/or Proficiency Training (PT) is required (if applicable).
- Successful completion of Frontier Airlines Simulator Instructor training (or equivalent bridge program) is required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver all curriculum segments and perform associated duties of the assigned training program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, Frontier Airlines policies, and procedures.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to operate A320 simulators/FTDs.
- Superior knowledge, skills, and experience are essential.
- Excellent compliance record with Frontier's Reliability program (if applicable).
- No more than one training/checking failure within the past two years.
- Adherence to the highest standards of conduct.
- Impeccable record of compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
