What Will You Be Doing?

The Base Chief Pilot (BCP) reports directly to the System Chief Pilot and is responsible for exercising operational control in the interest of maintaining safety per the Federal Aviation Regulations, Company manual sets and Operations Specifications in addition to being responsible for all administrative functions within the Domicile. The BCP will be familiar with all of the System Chief Pilot responsibilities in addition to the Essential Functions listed below.

Essential Functions

  • Provide supervision for direct reports as well as all line pilots within the domicile.
  • Recruit, interview and select pilot flight crewmembers as required by operational requirements.
  • Discipline as required by company policy, FAR’s and pilot working agreement.
  • Pilot contract administration.
  • Provide liaison with the FAA on all operational issues.
  • Maintain Flight Operations Manual, Volume I and others as required.
  • Assist HR in administering Frontier Pilot Drug Testing Program.
  • Work with Crew Scheduling to ensure proper qualification and FAR legality of all pilots.

Other Functions

  • Provide liaison with other departments as necessary to ensure safety and efficiency of flight operations.

Qualifications

  • Current Frontier Airlines Line Pilot
  • FAA type rating in the A320 aircraft
  • Current FAA Class 1 Medical preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of pilot collective bargaining agreement
  • Excellent technical and non-technical skills
  • Excellent winning attitude that understands and embraces Frontier’s commitment to Low Fares Done Right

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to provide effective leadership to direct reports and the entire pilot group
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner with all company personnel as well as outside agency representatives
  • Ability to problem-solve and react positively to all types of difficult situations
  • Knowledge of common desktop applications
