First Officer Position at Frontier Airlines

Job Summary

The First Officer is responsible for ensuring safe, timely, and efficient flight operations while delivering exceptional customer service. Candidates must perform their duties in strict accordance with all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute safe and timely flight operations, assuming responsibility for the aircraft during the designated period of duty.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-flight inspections to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
  • Analyze weather forecasts for departure, arrival, and alternate stations prior to each flight.
  • Oversee proper flight planning and fuel management to ensure operational safety.
  • Manage the handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal points while maintaining on-time departure schedules.
  • Maintain clear communication with crew and passengers regarding turbulence, adverse weather, or operational status updates.
  • Verify load manifests and passenger counts prior to every departure.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Total flight time: 1,500 hours (2,500 hours preferred).
  • Multi-engine fixed-wing experience: 750 hours.
  • Pilot in Command (PIC) time: 500 hours.
  • Jet/turboprop experience: 500 hours.
  • Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • ATP Certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit.
  • Valid US passport (machine-readable) with the ability to travel internationally, or valid foreign passport with US work authorization.
  • Ability to relocate and travel across the entire Frontier Airlines network.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, nights, holidays, and overnight trips, including red-eye flights.
  • Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
  • Experience with Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS) is preferred.
  • Compliance with company COVID-19 vaccination policy for new hires.

  • Capability to adapt to varied flight schedules including day and night operations.

Working Conditions and Equipment

The First Officer will utilize various tools, including aircraft controls, navigation charts, company manuals, iPads/tablets, and standard office equipment.

Physical Effort

This role requires moderate physical activity, including the ability to handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.
