Job Overview: Part-Time Simulator Flight Instructor I

CAE is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Simulator Flight Instructor I to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, the successful candidate will support the next generation of aviators by delivering high-quality training within the ATP-CTP E170/190 program. This position offers the opportunity to inspire mastery and ensure pilot readiness while contributing to CAE's legacy of training excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver instructor-led, Part 142 training to CAE customers, including ATP/CTP ground school and simulator sessions on the E170/190 platform.
  • Conduct comprehensive pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in alignment with CAE standards.
  • Provide expert instruction for licenses, type ratings, and certifications.
  • Maintain accurate client training records and facilitate seamless instructor handovers.
  • Recommend remedial training as required and document simulator usage and technical discrepancies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in curriculum and courseware development.
  • Serve as an invigilator during examinations and complete examiner-related training as assigned.
  • Track and maintain personal instructional qualifications to ensure continuous regulatory compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Unrestricted FAA ATP certificate.
  • Current type rating on the E170/190 platform.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within an FAA Part 121 or 135 program.
  • 2–5 years of total relevant aviation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Successful completion of all Airline Transport Pilot License written exams.
  • Thorough working knowledge of applicable aviation regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet regulatory authority instructor qualification and experience requirements.
  • Strong customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Fluency in English; availability to work night shifts as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing instructor qualification or rating issued by a regulatory authority.
  • Qualification meeting requirements for Simulator Instructor designation.
  • Additional A320 or B737 type rating is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

The role requires the ability to:

  • Constantly ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Remain in stationary positions (standing or sitting) for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally move into different positions in various environments, including confined spaces.
  • Occasionally move about to accomplish tasks and lift/adjust objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, or fingers.
