Instructor Pilot - C-17
FlightSafety International is seeking a qualified Instructor Pilot to join its team, responsible for providing ground-based training to C-17 pilots. This role involves instructing, measuring training progress, and diagnosing and remediating student challenges within the established TS curriculum.
Responsibilities

Conduct ground-based training for C-17 pilots, including instruction and progress assessment using various training devices such as the Weapon System Trainer (WST) and C-17 aircraft.

Deliver training on airdrop, aerial refueling/transport operating procedures, and combat tactics.

Diagnose and remediate student performance issues.

Maintain a high level of subject matter knowledge, instructional capability, and expertise.

Conduct briefings and debriefings to ensure high proficiency levels for pilots and Maintenance Engine Run personnel.

Perform administrative duties related to training, including user organization liaison, record keeping, student progress monitoring, counseling, training development, and program maintenance.

Provide input for courseware corrections, modifications, and updates to training policies and procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required.

8 years of flying experience, with a minimum of 5 years as a C-17 pilot with airdrop and aerial refueling experience, or the ability to obtain an AMC/A3TK waiver.

2 years or 200 hours of flight instructor experience in airdrop, aerial refueling, and tactics.

Recent C-17 flight instructor pilot experience and graduation from a Weapons Instructor Course (WIC) or certification from a Combat Aircrew Tactics Studies (CATS) Mobility Electronic Combat Officer Course (MECOC) are required.

Currently possess, or demonstrate the ability to obtain, a SECRET clearance.
