Job Opportunity: Helicopter Pilot (Instructor)

Amentum is currently seeking a professional Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) to join the team in Fort Rucker, Alabama. This role involves providing comprehensive flight instruction in the UH-72. Previous military aviation experience or specific UH-72 qualification is not required.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach, coach, and mentor student pilots through an intensive training curriculum designed to prepare them for roles as military aviators. Safety is the primary focus of Amentum’s rotary-wing flight training culture, which maintains a record of over 2.5 million hours of instruction across a 40,000-square-mile operational area.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications

  • Possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, or be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course for rotary wing aircraft.
  • Total Flight Time: 1,500 hours (as pilot-in-command or second-in-command).
  • 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
  • Documented experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
  • 75 hours of night flying experience.
  • 500 hours of instructor time.
  • Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to training commencement.
  • Basic Warfighter Skills Applicants: Certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified with 200 hours of NVG time.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position is $55.85 per hour. Actual compensation is subject to factors including experience, internal equity, and market data.
