Job Title: Helicopter Pilot (Instructor)

Position Overview

Amentum is seeking a professional Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) to provide expert instruction in the UH-72 platform. While military aviation experience or specific UH-72 qualification is not required, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coaching and mentoring student pilots, ensuring they are prepared for the rigors of military aviation while maintaining the highest standards of flight safety.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive academic and hands-on flight instruction to student pilots.
Maintain an environment where safety remains the paramount priority during all training evolutions.
Mentor students through intensive training programs designed to build knowledge, skills, and abilities for complex aviation environments.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications

Possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both. Alternatively, candidates may be a graduate of any DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course.
Total flight time of at least 1,500 hours (as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command per FAR 61.51; or as Pilot in Command or Pilot per AR 95-1).
Minimum of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
Demonstrated experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
Minimum of 75 hours of night flying experience.
Minimum of 500 hours of instructor time.
Must possess a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to the commencement of training.
Basic Warfighter Skills applicants must be certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified with at least 200 hours of NVG time.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide documentation upon request.

Additional Information

Employment is subject to government approval and the terms of a 12-month employee agreement. The compensation for this position is $55.85 per hour.
