Job Overview

CAE is seeking a qualified KC-135 Instructor Pilot to provide high-level aviation instruction and operational procedure training. The successful candidate will facilitate training in classrooms, simulators, and aircraft, while serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist in the development and review of complex training curricula. This role is essential to supporting mission readiness for military customers through immersive, high-fidelity training solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert KC-135 pilot procedures instruction across various platforms, including simulators and live aircraft.
  • Deliver specialized training in Visual Threat Recognition Avoidance Training (VTRAT) and Crew Resource Management (CRM).
  • Act as a curriculum SME to develop, review, and update lesson plans and training policies.
  • Conduct ground training, diagnose student performance issues, and perform necessary remediation.
  • Maintain rigorous proficiency in KC-135 Aircrew Training Devices, instrument procedures, take-off and landing protocols, and emergency procedures.
  • Perform administrative tasks including scheduling, record keeping, quality assurance, safety audits, and student counseling.
  • Collaborate on project development and provide analytical feedback to improve training effectiveness.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of eight years of total flying experience, including five years of military experience.
  • Specialized Experience: At least two years of KC-135 pilot flight instructor and training management experience; must possess recent experience as a KC-135 Instructor Pilot or Evaluator Pilot.
  • Certification: Completion of a formal USAF Instructor training course.
  • Skills: Strong facilitation and data analysis capabilities; ability to interpret complex documents and provide effective oral/written presentations.
  • Security: Must be eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance and comply with all data protection/handling policies.
  • Citizenship: Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, this position is open only to U.S. citizens.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The incumbent must be physically capable of standing for up to six hours daily to conduct instruction. Additional physical requirements include the ability to climb ladders into simulator/cockpit environments, stoop, bend, crawl, and perform duties in areas with noise, extreme heat, or potential mechanical/electrical hazards.
