FlightSafety International is seeking a Simulator Second in Command (SIC) to join its professional aviation training team. The company operates the world’s largest fleet of advanced full-flight simulators and award-winning maintenance training programs at Learning Centers across the United States, Canada, France, and the United Kingdom.
The Simulator Second in Command is primarily responsible for maintaining currency in assigned aircraft programs to serve as Second-In-Command for both internal and external Customer Pilots during Recurrent, Initial, or generic training courses within the established training curriculum. This role involves supporting multi-crew aircraft training sessions by acting as a competent SIC, focusing solely on flight crew duties and not performing instructional tasks.
A high school diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency (G.E.D.) is required, coupled with two to three (2-3) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior to commencing SIC duties, the applicant must possess a Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings. A minimum of 450 flight hours is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands for controls, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally. Occasional requirements include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and tasting or smelling. The role demands a physical range of body motion to:
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The work environment frequently involves working near moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure may include high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
Salary Range: $48,875.00 - $83,375.00
Compensation for the role is determined by various factors including a candidate’s qualifications, education, skills, experience, and market demands. These factors influence the salary/wage offered.
