The Opportunity

The Pilot SIC will be an integral member of a three-pilot crew (two PICs, one SIC) dedicated to a private Gulfstream G450 operation. Based near Chicagoland at GYY airport, this account operates approximately 300-350 hours annually under Part 91 and internal Part 135 regulations (no retail charter). The aircraft is supported by a full-time Maintenance Technician and benefits from dedicated hangar space. This position offers a predictable schedule with most trip calendars known one to two months in advance, allowing for enhanced planning and work-life balance. International trips are scheduled with ample notice, and travel home between flight segments is frequently approved. Please note: This position requires residing within driving distance of Gary/Chicago International Airport (GYY).

Key Responsibilities

The Second in Command Pilot performs duties in strict adherence to the Company General Operations Manual (GOM), FAA Regulations, Operations Specifications, Flight Manuals, and other pertinent instructions. This role is responsible for upholding the company's commitment to safety, security, and quality through continuous compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS) program and proactive reporting. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Conducting post-flight aircraft interior checks, including removal of debris, catering, ice, and coffee, and reporting any interior equipment discrepancies to the Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • Arranging and obtaining required cabin items, such as catering, as identified by the Flight Operations Center.
  • Providing the highest level of customer service to passengers at all times.
  • Coordinating all work schedules and schedule changes with the Chief Pilot.
  • Accurately logging and reporting flight and duty times.
  • Reporting all commercial flying performed outside the company to the Flight Operations Center for inclusion in Flight and Duty Time Records.
  • Maintaining and providing a copy of the First Class Medical Certificate to the Flight Operations Training Department by the specified deadline each month.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of professional aviation experience.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Must obtain an FAA Type rating in the applicable Fleet type (Gulfstream G450).

Minimum Flight Time Requirements:

  • Total Flight Time: 2500 hours
  • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
  • Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours
  • Instrument: 150 hours
  • Jet: 250 hours
  • Turbine Engine: 100 hours
  • Time in Type (Gulfstream G450 or similar aircraft size): 50 hours
