Purpose of Position
Executive Jet Management, an esteemed Berkshire Hathaway company, is actively seeking highly qualified candidates for the critical position of Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Gulfstream G550 aircraft. This integral role is based in Las Vegas, NV (KHND), and requires candidates to reside in or be willing to relocate to the Las Vegas area, as this position is not commutable.
The Pilot in Command assumes ultimate responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft, adhering rigorously to all company policies and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an unparalleled service experience to passengers.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:
- Ensures compliance of crewing and trip assignments with all company and regulatory standards.
- Executes comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance determinations for each mission.
- Leads essential pre-flight briefings, employing Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) methodology to proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Adheres strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintains effective coordination with internal personnel. Serves as the designated Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator, as outlined by company policy.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight inspections, verifying the aircraft's maintenance status to ensure mission readiness. Accurately records all aircraft discrepancies in strict adherence to company SOPs.
- Supervises and ensures the proper accomplishment of all aircraft ground servicing tasks, including fueling, oil, and oxygen replenishment, in accordance with established SOPs.
- Delivers comprehensive passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and aviation regulations. Commits to providing the highest caliber of customer service, accommodating special passenger needs with professionalism and discretion.
- Employs Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to facilitate clear, timely, and effective communication with crew and support personnel across all operational phases, including normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.
Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides premium service to aircraft owners and passengers, proactively identifying opportunities to elevate the EJM service experience. Responsibly investigates and resolves any service deviations.
- Fosters strong collaboration with fellow crew members and EJM internal departments to ensure a consistent and superior service experience for owners and passengers. Effectively resolves conflicts and challenges professionally.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains all required regulatory certifications, company training, and recency of experience requirements.
- Adheres fully to the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program, reporting all safety or non-compliance concerns through designated channels.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements (KSAOs)
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Las Vegas, NV.
- Demonstrated prior experience in Part 135 operations is required.
- An FAA Type Rating for G450/V/550 series aircraft is strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the Pilot in Command position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 3,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
- PIC Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Base Salary Range
The base salary range for this Pilot in Command position, categorized under Large/Heavy/Premium cabin aircraft, is $160,000 - $425,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
