Position Summary

Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking highly qualified Pilot in Command (PIC) candidates for a Falcon 8X aircraft. This position is based at White Plains, NY (KHPN) and is part of a dedicated three-pilot team supported by a Maintenance Technician and a Cabin Attendant. Operations include both Part 91 and Part 135 flights.

This role involves significant international travel, comprising approximately 70% of flight time, throughout Europe, alongside domestic flights to Colorado, California, and Florida. The successful candidate will join a well-tenured and experienced Lead PIC on this account. Essential qualities for this position include excellent communication skills, detail orientation, and a strong focus on safety and service. Dassault experience is required, with a strong preference for candidates holding a Falcon 8X type rating. This position is not home-based, and relocation assistance is not provided. Candidates must reside within a two-hour radius of KHPN or be willing to fully self-relocate within 90 days of employment.

The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. The PIC adheres to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently providing an exceptional service experience for passengers and owners.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:

  • Ensures crewing and trip assignments meet company and regulatory requirements.
  • Completes flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
  • Utilizes Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
  • Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as required.
  • Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator in accordance with company policy.
  • Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including verifying the maintenance status, to ensure the aircraft is mission capable. Records all aircraft discrepancies according to company SOPs.
  • Ensures all aircraft ground servicing (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) is monitored and accomplished per SOPs.
  • Conducts passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and regulation. Delivers a high level of customer service, accommodating any special passenger needs.
  • Applies Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles for clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.

Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:

  • Provides quality service to owners and passengers, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience.
  • Investigates and resolves service deviations in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent service experience.
  • Resolves conflicts and challenges professionally and acceptably.

Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:

  • Maintains all required regulatory and company training and recency of experience.
  • Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is preferred.
  • FAA Type rating in applicable fleet type is required.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
    • Total flight time: 3500 hours
    • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
    • Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
    • PIC MEL: 500 hours
    • Instrument: 300 hours
    • Jet: 500 hours

Base Salary Range

Cabin Size
Large/Heavy/Premium $260,000 - $425,000
