Position Summary
EJM is seeking qualified candidates for a Pilot in Command position operating an EMB-550 aircraft based in Evansville, Indiana, at the EVV airport. This is a dedicated two-pilot Part 91 account with an average annual flight time of approximately 250 hours. Trips are typically single-day with a mix of occasional overnights, booked well in advance, with the majority of flying scheduled on weekdays. This position requires the Pilot in Command to reside within driving distance of the EVV airport; it is not a commutable position.
The Pilot in Command assumes final responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated safely, compliantly, and efficiently. This role demands adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience to clients.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Pilot in Command is responsible for a range of duties, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safe operation of flight, which involves confirming crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Completing all necessary flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Utilizing Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and actively mitigate operational risks.
- Complying with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating with company personnel as required.
- Acting as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator in accordance with company policy.
- Completing all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including verifying the aircraft's maintenance status to ensure mission capability.
- Recording all aircraft discrepancies according to company SOPs.
- Monitoring and ensuring all aircraft ground servicing items, such as fueling, oil, and oxygen, are accomplished in accordance with SOPs.
- Conducting passenger briefings as required by company policy and regulation.
- Delivering the highest level of customer service and accommodating any special needs of passengers, including those who are physically challenged.
- Effectively utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to ensure clear and timely communication with the crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Providing quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience, and regularly investigating and resolving service deviations.
- Collaborating with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent service experience for owners and passengers.
- Resolving conflicts and challenges in a professional and acceptable manner.
- Maintaining all required regulatory and company training and recency of experience.
- Complying with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
Certifications and Licenses
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
- First Class Medical Certificate
Experience
- 4-6 years of aviation experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
- Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is preferred.
- Possession of an FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet (EMB-550) is required.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Candidates must meet the following minimum flight time requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
