Position Overview

Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Gulfstream G550 aircraft. This prestigious role is based at Teterboro, NJ (KTEB) and is supported by a dedicated three-pilot team, a Maintenance Technician, and a Cabin Attendant. The position involves both Part 91 and Part 135 operations, with an anticipated annual flight time of 350-400 hours, including approximately 50 hours of Owner/Affiliate Part 135 operations and 25% international travel.

The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This role demands adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring Safe Operation of Flight:

  • Ensures crewing and trip assignments are fully compliant with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Completes comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
  • Utilizes Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and effectively mitigate operational risks.
  • Complies rigorously with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates seamlessly with company personnel as required.
  • Acts as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator, as defined by company policy.
  • Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including verifying the maintenance status of the aircraft, to ensure the aircraft is mission capable. All aircraft discrepancies are recorded meticulously in accordance with company SOPs.
  • Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are diligently monitored and accomplished in accordance with SOPs.
  • Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate clearly and in a timely manner with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.

Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:

  • Provides superior quality service to owners and passengers while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience.
  • Regularly investigates and resolves service deviations to maintain high standards.
  • Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to provide a consistent and outstanding service experience to owners and passengers.
  • Resolves conflict and challenges in a professional and acceptable manner.
  • Completes thorough passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation, and diligently meets any special needs of passengers (e.g., physically challenged).

Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:

  • Maintains all regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
  • Complies fully with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet (Gulfstream G550).
  • Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.

Minimum Flight Time Requirements:

  • Total flight time: 3,500 hours
  • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
  • Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
  • PIC Multi Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
  • Instrument: 300 hours
  • Jet: 500 hours

Compensation and Benefits

EJM offers a highly competitive compensation package for this critical role:

  • Base Salary Range (Large/Heavy/Premium Cabin): $300,000 - $365,000
  • Discretionary Bonus: 21-23% of base salary
