Pilot-in-Command - Premier Aviation Operations

An esteemed aviation group, comprising fifteen professional pilots and five cabin attendants, seeks an experienced Pilot-in-Command to enhance its established team. This pivotal role operates within a sophisticated fleet of four aircraft. The flight operations encompass approximately two-thirds of missions within North America, with the remaining third extending to international destinations across South America, Europe, and Asia.

The Pilot-in-Command holds ultimate responsibility for the safety of all passengers and crew, ensuring the comfortable and punctual operation of the aircraft. This leadership position involves the direct supervision of the flight crew and strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations for both flight and ground operations. Key duties include determining optimal routes, speeds, and flight schedules to meet demanding operational requirements. The Pilot-in-Command actively participates in comprehensive mission planning, collaborating with trip coordinators and international handlers days in advance of flights. Furthermore, this role requires decisive action regarding potential delays, re-routing, or flight cancellations. Non-flying duties may include participation in departmental meetings and other general department responsibilities.

This position is primarily based at Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), with occasional operations originating from Waterford, Michigan, depending on the final flight of the assigned aircraft. Individuals selected for this role must reside within a two-hour commute of DTW. In 2024, crew members assigned to this account averaged approximately sixteen workdays per month, with fluctuations reflecting seasonal increases and decreases in operational activity.
