Job Summary
The First Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo. This role demands a high level of professionalism, technical expertise, and adherence to Etihad's strict operating procedures. The First Officer reports directly to the Captain and is expected to work collaboratively with the flight crew to maintain the highest standards of aviation safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo as per assigned duties, including assuming command in the Captain's absence.
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of Etihad's Operations Manual to execute duties safely and professionally.
- Providing assistance to the Captain with administrative duties related to the flight.
- Supporting the Captain in maintaining a professional and disciplined crew environment, upholding high standards of conduct and appearance.
- Carrying out flight-related duties as assigned by the Captain, adhering to Etihad's operating policies and procedures.
- Ensuring safe navigation, constantly monitoring the aircraft's geographical position, terrain, and weather conditions.
- Conducting flights in compliance with flight plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Captain's instructions, promptly communicating any deviations or changes.
- Providing timely advice, information, and assistance to the Captain to contribute to the safe and efficient execution of the flight.
- Maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance as an ambassador of Etihad Airways at all times.
- In the event of Captain incapacitation, the highest-ranking First Officer assumes command of the flight.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2500 hours total flying time.
- Minimum 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit (FMS coupled to APFDS) or high-performance military jet aircraft.
- Minimum 1000 hours on Airbus A330, A340, A350, or A380 aircraft.
- Valid type rating on A330, A340, A350, or A380 with a minimum of 2 months validity remaining at the time of joining.
- Current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL (Frozen ATPL not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen).
- Flight experience on any Airbus Fly-By-Wire (FBW) aircraft within the last 12 months.
- Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
- Maximum age limit of 50 years old.
- English language fluency (written and verbal) Level 4 or better.
- For hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% of total hours will be considered towards minimum requirements.
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive fixed monthly salary of AED 26,000.
- Flight duty allowance:
- 1-6 years of service: AED 40 per block hour
- 7-10 years of service: AED 56 per block hour
