Job Description

The Captain is responsible for the safety and security of all crew members, passengers, and cargo on board the aircraft. This individual assumes command and responsibility for the aircraft's operation and safety from the initial taxiing phase prior to takeoff until the aircraft comes to a complete stop and the engines are shut down after landing. The Captain will ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, documentation, and briefing materials for the intended route, destination, and alternate airfields, including familiarization with oxygen and terrain escape routes. The Captain possesses the authority to issue all commands deemed necessary for the safety of the aircraft and all persons or property carried. They also have the authority to disembark any person or remove any cargo that may be deemed a potential hazard. The Captain will enforce crew adherence to operational checklists during all phases of flight, including abnormal and emergency situations. Furthermore, they will ensure proper implementation of manufacturer-provided procedures and checklists approved for use. In emergency situations, the Captain will make any necessary decisions and take appropriate actions, even if they deviate from established rules or procedures, in the interest of safety. They must operate the aircraft within the scope of all Operational Manuals and ensure all individuals on board comply with all lawful commands. The Captain is responsible for efficient operation in accordance with company fuel policy, on-time performance, and customer awareness.

Qualifications

A successful candidate must have a minimum of 7000 hours total flying time, including a minimum of 2500 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit jet aircraft and a minimum of 2000 PIC hours on any Airbus wide-body Fly-By-Wire (FBW) aircraft. The type rating on any Airbus FBW must be valid for a minimum of 2 months at the time of joining. Candidates are required to hold an unrestricted and current ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), and have flown any Airbus FBW within the last 12 months. An unrestricted and current Class 1 medical certificate is also mandatory. Candidates must be under 59 years of age upon the date of joining. A current TRE/TRI is considered an advantage. They must demonstrate English language fluency at Level 4 or better, both written and verbal. In the event of hours accumulated on flights with in-flight relief, 75% of total hours will be counted towards minimum requirements. (Glass Cockpit: aircraft with a FMS coupled to APFDS.)

Salary and Benefits

The starting salary for Captains is AED 35,200 per month, supplemented by a flight duty allowance: AED 50 per block hour for 1-6 years of service, increasing to AED 80 per block hour for 7-10 years of service. Meal allowances during layovers are provided at the following rates: Middle East/GCC/Sub Continent (AED 12 per hour), Asia/Far East (AED 15 per hour), Africa/Australasia (AED 18 per hour), and Europe/Americas (AED 23 per hour). A housing allowance of up to AED 170,000 per year is provided, or company housing may be offered based on availability. An education allowance is provided for up to three children: AED 40,000 for primary and AED 55,000 for secondary education. Additional benefits include an income protection scheme, 42 days of annual leave, staff travel benefits, end-of-service benefits, as well as accidental and life insurance benefits.
