Qualifications & Requirements:
Candidates for the First Officer position must meet the following minimum criteria:
- A minimum of 2,000 hours total flying time.
- A valid ICAO Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) and a matching Authority Class 1 Medical Certificate with no limitations (except visual corrections).
- Achieved ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher.
Specific Type Rating Requirements:

For B777 Operations:
- Minimum 2,000 hours total flying time on jet aircraft weighing 20 tonnes or more (excluding P3, rotary, and single/multi-engine piston aircraft).
- Minimum 1,000 hours on Boeing Type aircraft.
- Currently actively flying Boeing Type aircraft.
- Minimum 150 hours flying time within the past 12 months on type.

For A380 & A350 Operations:
- Minimum 2,000 hours total flying time on jet aircraft weighing 50 tonnes or more (excluding P3, rotary, and single/multi-engine piston aircraft).
- Minimum 1,000 hours on Airbus Fly-by-Wire (FBW) aircraft.
- Currently actively flying Airbus FBW aircraft.
- Minimum 150 hours flying time within the past 12 months on type.
Enhanced Package Criteria:
More experienced First Officers may qualify for an enhanced salary package if they meet the following additional criteria:
- 4,000 hours total flying time on jet aircraft weighing 20 tonnes or more (excluding P3 & rotary aircraft).
- Minimum 2,000 hours total flying time on jet aircraft weighing 50 tonnes or more.
- Achieved ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or higher.
Frozen ATPL Consideration:
Pilots holding a Frozen ATPL (Commercial Pilot Licence plus successful completion of ATPL Theory exams) may be invited for assessment, subject to agreement with specific terms and conditions.
