Minimum Requirements for Airbus Captains

To be considered for the position of Direct Entry Airbus Captain, candidates must meet the following stringent criteria:

Minimum of 7000 hours total flying time (excluding P3, rotary, and single/multi-engine piston aircraft).
For A380 Fleet: Must currently be flying as an Airbus FBW Wide Body Captain and possess a minimum of 3000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) on Airbus FBW Wide Body aircraft.
For A350 Fleet: Must have a minimum of 3000 hours command time on a multi-crew, multi-engine commercial jet aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) exceeding 50 tonnes. A minimum of 1500 hours of this must be as a Captain on an Airbus FBW Wide Body aircraft.
Minimum of 150 hours in the past 12 months on type.
Hold a valid ICAO ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) with a matching Authority Class 1 Medical Certificate.
Demonstrate ICAO English level 5 or above proficiency.
