Corporate Pilot - Discount Tire
Discount Tire, a company celebrating the spirit of its people with extraordinary pride and enthusiasm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Pilot to join its Aviation Department. The department is dedicated to providing safe, reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective air transportation services, supporting the company's continued growth and expansion.
This is a full-time position based in Scottsdale, Arizona, with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the company's aircraft, adhering to all applicable regulations and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the aircraft is airworthy and registered, with all required documentation on board.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, including weather checks, NOTAM review, and fuel/oil/oxygen assessments.
- Determine aircraft weight and balance and confirm the accuracy of onboard databases.
- Ensure flight planning requirements are met and review the Risk Assessment for all legs before each flight.
- Verify that all crew members possess valid certificates, medical certificates, passports, and visas (when required).
- Confirm compliance with all environmental rules and procedures at intended departure and destination airports.
- Provide passenger safety briefings, confirm passenger manifest accuracy, and inform the dispatcher of any changes in passenger status or destination before departure.
- Operate the aircraft in accordance with Discount Tire's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists, maintaining awareness of aircraft limitations.
- Continuously monitor fuel levels and communicate with air traffic control (ATC) in abnormal situations.
- Ensure compliance with customs, immigration, and cabotage laws.
- Complete post-flight duties, including reporting any deviations from the planned itinerary, schedule, or overnight location.
- Record flight times and aircraft defects, and promptly report any known or suspected FAA violations or incidents to the Chief Pilot.
- Assume any duties delegated by the Chief Pilot.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5,000 hours of flight experience, including at least 3,000 hours as Pilot in Command.
- Extensive and current worldwide international operations experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety equipment and its proper use.
- Experience with Falcon 900LX Easy or Challenger 350/3500 aircraft and international captaincy highly preferred.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a 10-year work history review.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), delivered with tact and professionalism.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Exercise sound judgment and adapt to changing conditions with timely and appropriate actions.
- Ability to balance a flexible schedule, including working long hours and weekends.
- Communicate information and recommendations to non-flight personnel in a clear and informative manner.
- Commitment to working in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Current Airline Transport Certificate with necessary type ratings.
- Valid First Class FAA Medical Certificate (within 6 months of the latest exam).
- Valid Aeronautical Radiotelephone License for International Operations.
- Valid and current passport.
- CPR and First Aid Certification required.
