Pilot, Challenger 3500
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, is seeking qualified candidates for a Pilot position. This position supports a Challenger 3500 aircraft based in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, at AGC airport. This operation functions as a three-pilot account, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, conducting both Part 91 and Part 135 flights to domestic and international destinations.
This is a **non-commutable position** and requires the successful candidate to reside within driving distance of AGC airport.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Pilot ensures the safe and efficient operation of flights while providing exceptional service. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring crewing and trip assignments adhere to company and regulatory requirements.
- Completing all necessary flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Leading required briefings and mitigating operational risks through the utilization of Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology.
- Complying with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating with company personnel as necessary. The Pilot acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Completing all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including verifying the maintenance status, to ensure the aircraft is mission capable. All aircraft discrepancies are recorded in accordance with company SOPs.
- Monitoring and ensuring that all aircraft ground servicing items, such as fueling, oil, and oxygen, are accomplished according to SOPs.
- Conducting passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation. The Pilot is expected to deliver the highest level of customer service and accommodate any special needs of passengers, including those who are physically challenged.
- Communicating clearly and in a timely manner with the crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations, utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM).
Furthermore, the Pilot is responsible for delivering an exceptional service experience by:
- Providing quality service to owners and passengers and actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. This includes regularly investigating and resolving service deviations.
- Collaborating effectively with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent service experience for owners and passengers, resolving conflicts and challenges professionally.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance is also a critical aspect of the role:
- Maintaining all regulatory and company-required training and ensuring recency of experience.
- Complying with the company SMS program and reporting safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.
Certifications and Licenses
Candidates must possess the following certifications and licenses:
- First Class Medical Certificate
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
Years of Experience
A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
Essential qualifications include:
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
- FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet is required.
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- Candidates should meet the following minimum flight time requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
- Preference will be given to local pilots with prior Challenger experience.
Base Salary Range
Compensation is structured based on cabin size:
- Small/Mid/Supermid Aircraft: $160,000 – $325,000
- Large/Heavy/Premium Aircraft: $160,000 – $425,000
