How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Pilot Assist Coordinator supports Pilot Assist operating 24/7 - 365 days in support of all pilots system wide.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
Takes administrative/operational calls and messages from pilots, rotating as a Moderator – Crew Assist responding to Pilots via application on pilot’s tablet.
Evaluates and determines escalations for pilot compliance with administrative policies and practices.
First point of contact for various issues for all pilots system wide including pay, scheduling, training, policy enforcement, Flight Crew Reports (FCR), and expense approval.
Verification and certification of FAA medicals, issuing FAA temporary medical & Pilot Certificates, working the Pilot Assist and Tablet and Media inbox emails, administration of the Death in Family benefit and arrangements, Pass Bureau tracking and audits, passport and visa renewal processes, jumpseat program process, return to work process, pilot document updates in DBMS, Deltanet and ESS navigation assistance, Tier 2 support for the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) to include working the Service Manager EFB – QCQ - E-Learning – LMS trouble tickets and special projects assigned by the Supervisor, Pilot Assist and Manager – Pilot Assist.
Position is structured within the Pilot Assist to support the Operation and business issues of over 13,000 Delta Air Lines pilots and requires coordination with management & FAA as well as responding to Irregular Operations (IROPS) which may necessitate periods of 24/7 coverage.
Mentors, trains, & supports new Coordinators – Pilot Assist.
Evaluates and develops SOPs and documentation supporting the processes and procedures for support tasks.
Position may require limited travel and periodic overtime.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
A college degree (Associates or higher) or compatible work experience required.
Candidate must have strong analytical, organizational and decision making skills.
Must be able to communicate with pilots regarding proprietary, confidential, legal,
complex, or sensitive issues.
Possession of an advanced education or operational background along with strong
written and verbal communications skills is required.
Must be able to relate to the pilot profession in order to maintain an attitude of pilot
advocacy for each line pilot.
Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
Experience in HR systems, to include SAP is a plus.
Experience interacting with Crew Scheduling, Tracking, Training and Crew Resources is preferred.
Should have 3 or more years’ experience in Flight Operations and knowledge of DBMS are a plus.
Should be able to effectively manage multiple complex operational and administrative issues simultaneously.
