Job Summary
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and airworthiness of the client's fleet. This position is responsible for performing meticulous preventative maintenance, skilled alterations, and comprehensive inspections on various aircraft components, including engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurized sections, accessories, brakes, valves, pumps, and air-conditioning systems. Technicians are required to maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance activities and are authorized to sign mechanical flight releases. This role demands a keen eye for detail and the ability to efficiently diagnose and rectify complex mechanical issues, often relying on pilot descriptions of problems. As a certified AMT, the incumbent is vital in upholding the highest standards of safety for both the client's team members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive aircraft maintenance duties, including routine inspections, advanced troubleshooting, and repairs on airframe structures, power plants, and intricate aircraft systems.
- Executes all necessary airframe, power plant repairs, and modifications in strict adherence to Company, Client, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements.
- Interprets and accurately incorporates information from blueprints and complex aircraft wiring diagrams.
- Proficiently removes and disassembles defective components, assembles and installs replacement parts, and conducts thorough testing of aircraft systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Ensures all maintenance documentation is meticulously maintained, accurately recording open discrepancies and completed corrective actions.
- Operates a wide array of power tools and equipment required for job assignments, consistently maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Submits accurate and timely work orders.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor, reflecting the company's commitment to excellence.
- Responsible for aircraft towing and parking operations.
- Undertakes additional aircraft maintenance tasks as may be required.
- Consistently meets performance measures aligned with CAS and the client's core values of safety, integrity, respect, and trust.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must possess a current, valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License, free of any history of infractions.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the English Language.
- Minimum of one year of previous line maintenance experience is preferred but not strictly required.
- Experience and/or training on at least two commercial aircraft types is highly desirable, with specific preference for A319, A320, A321, B737, B767, B777, and E190 aircraft.
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer literacy.
- Ability to legally operate a motorized vehicle.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination is mandatory.
- Must embody CAS and the client's safety culture, values, and mission.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
The role demands significant physical capability, including the ability to stand, lie down, kneel, and climb stairs, scaffolds, or ladders. Frequent lifting, pulling, and holding of objects weighing more than 70 pounds is required. Exposure to noise and vibration is common when aircraft engines are operating, necessitating the consistent use of appropriate ear protection.
Aircraft Maintenance Technicians frequently work outdoors in varying weather conditions, requiring the ability to handle environmental extremes. The position often involves working under time pressure to adhere to flight schedules while upholding the highest safety standards.
