About the Role

A leading aviation organization is seeking a highly experienced and safety-focused Chief Pilot to lead its flight operations. The Chief Pilot will be instrumental in overseeing all flight crew operations, ensuring stringent adherence to aviation regulations, managing comprehensive training programs, optimizing scheduling, and actively participating in flight duties. Key Responsibilities

  • Leads and supervises all flight crew members, providing essential training, comprehensive guidance, and meticulous performance oversight.
  • Develops, maintains, and rigorously enforces Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guarantee the safest and most efficient flight operations.
  • Ensures all flight activities are conducted in strict compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and the highest industry safety standards.
  • Actively participates in flight duties on a regular basis, encompassing both complex domestic and challenging international operations.
  • Coordinates and optimizes pilot scheduling, diligently manages duty time limitations, and ensures comprehensive flight readiness.
  • Evaluates and mentors pilots, fostering continuous professional growth and ensuring unwavering regulatory compliance.
  • Contributes to the strategic management of aviation department expenditures, proactively identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities.
  • Supports meticulous maintenance oversight, including coordinating detailed inspections and audits in close collaboration with maintenance personnel and external vendors.
  • Maintains all required operational records with precision, ensuring the timely and accurate documentation of training, flight hours, and professional certifications.
  • Collaborates effectively with senior leadership to define departmental goals and spearhead innovative safety initiatives.
  • Promotes and champions a robust culture of teamwork, exemplary professionalism, and exceptional customer service throughout the flight department.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10,000 total flight hours, including:
    • 5,000 hours in turbine aircraft
    • 5,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC)
  • Possession of a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate and a valid Commercial Pilot Certificate.
  • Significant experience in both complex domestic and international flight operations.
  • A minimum of 5 years of dedicated corporate aviation experience.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities, demonstrating the ability to guide and develop a high-performing team.
  • Comprehensive understanding of FAA regulations, Safety Management Systems (SMS) programs, and aviation industry best practices.
  • A professional, discreet, and service-oriented demeanor, capable of representing the organization with distinction.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt effectively in dynamic situations and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted passport for international travel.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Current type rating in a Challenger 604 is preferred.

  • Frequent travel, up to 75%, including extensive international destinations, is required.
