Instructor Pilot - United States

CAE is seeking a qualified and passionate Instructor Pilot to deliver exceptional flight training within a simulator and ground school environment. This role adheres to all regulatory agency requirements, CAE approved curriculum, and specific customer needs. The Instructor Pilot will act as a subject matter expert, guiding clients through their training journey. After 1.5+ years, based on business requirements, designated Instructors will be expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.

Responsibilities:

The Instructor Pilot will provide simulator/flight or classroom instruction across various aircraft types, issuing licenses, type ratings, internal training certifications, and pilot qualifications. They will conduct thorough pre- and post-flight simulator briefings, adhering to CAE standards. This role includes completing training records, recommending remedial training as needed, and tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity. The Instructor Pilot may also contribute their subject matter expertise to the creation of curricula and courseware.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must hold or meet qualifications to receive an unrestricted ATP certificate and possess a minimum of one unrestricted PIC Type Rating. Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching are essential. The candidate must have basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs. Participation in CAE's DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program is required. The successful applicant must be authorized to live and work in the United States. Experience flying business aircraft is considered a plus.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires physical dexterity for tasks involving hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. The Instructor Pilot must be able to sit in a confined space for 4-6 hours at a time with limited breaks, and stand for extended periods of up to 10 hours with limited breaks. The role also requires the ability to sit, stoop, climb, and twist.
