First Officer - Bighorn Airways, Inc.
Bighorn Airways, Inc., a leading provider of aerial services to the United States Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management, is seeking highly skilled and motivated First Officers to join its team.
The Role:
This seasonal position entails piloting CASA 212 or DHC-8 aircraft on demanding missions in the Rocky Mountain Regions of the Lower 48 and the state of Alaska. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating these large aircraft at low airspeeds in challenging mountainous terrain, often under unfavorable weather conditions.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Dropping smoke jumpers in remote locations.
- Performing low-level para cargo drops.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: A strong background in low-level flying, preferably with experience in agricultural aviation, is essential.
- Skills: Excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others for extended periods are crucial.
- Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a Commercial Pilot Certificate (AMEL) with an Instrument Rating.
- Time: 1200 total hours, 250 PIC hours in airplanes.
Contract Details:
- Duration: Contracts run for 90-120 days with potential extensions of 30+ days.
- Dates: Contracts typically commence in April and conclude in September, depending on the location.
- Duty Cycle: 12 days on, followed by 2 days off, for the duration of the contract.
