Qualified Flying Instructor

Babcock International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Flying Instructor to join their team at the Middle Wallop site in Stockbridge, Hampshire. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive compensation of £70,557.84. The role, identified as SF61152, offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the training and development of the next generation of Apache and Wildcat pilots.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping future military aviators. This position involves instructing candidates at Middle Wallop on the Babcock Grob 115E Tutor Aircraft, providing essential training for those aspiring to operate advanced rotary-wing platforms. This role is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to make a real difference in aviation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough end-of-course reports to assess candidate performance and progress.
  • Actively foster and uphold a strong military ethos within the 6 Flying Training School (FTS), integrating Student Care Directives into all aspects of training.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety and quality throughout all 6 FTS operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all communications, documentation, and written materials adhere to required standards of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Successfully complete all Staff Continuation Training requirements to maintain proficiency and currency.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience in military flying operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of a CFS B1 QFI/QHI category certification.
  • Holding a Class 1 Medical Certificate, as required by the Ministry of Defence.
  • A minimum of a Commercial Pilot's License with an Unrestricted Instructor Rating (including Aerobatics) and a valid Instrument Rating (A) SE SP.
  • Completion of DTTT V2 (Defence Train the Trainer) certification.
  • Successful completion of a Flying Supervisors Course or Flight Authorisers Course.

Security Clearance:

The selected candidate must be capable of obtaining and maintaining SC security clearance throughout their employment.
