Overview
CAE, a globally recognized leader in aviation training, is actively seeking a highly qualified and experienced UAS Sensor Operator Instructor to join its Intermediate Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) training delivery program. This pivotal role is based at the prestigious King Faisal Air Academy (KFAA) in Al Majma’ah, Saudi Arabia, where the instructor will play a crucial part in developing the next generation of skilled UAS operators.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be an integral member of a dedicated team, primarily responsible for delivering comprehensive academic and simulator instruction. This position requires an individual with extensive aviation and training expertise, coupled with advanced computer skills in text and graphics, to develop, deliver, and maintain state-of-the-art multi-media and computer-assisted courseware packages. The instructor will serve as a customer-facing expert, proficiently identifying and addressing customer needs and requests, while autonomously resolving a diverse range of operational and technical issues. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert UAS system training within areas of specialization.
- Utilizing a wide array of instructional training aids, including dynamic multimedia presentations (videos, slides, PowerPoint), system components, and high-fidelity simulators, to facilitate engaging and effective classroom instruction.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Prospective candidates must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Possession of a background as a former military instructor pilot (e.g., USAF specialty code “X”, UK Airborne Instructor, or a direct NATO equivalent).
- A minimum of 1500 total sensor operator flying hours, with at least 500 hours specifically accrued on a representative Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) UAS type.
- A minimum of three years of experience providing initial UAS instruction within a formal teaching environment.
- Demonstrated native English proficiency or holding an ICAO Level 5 (Extended) Aviation English certification.
- Excellence in pedagogical skills and a comprehensive understanding of academic instructional techniques.
Desired Requirements
Candidates possessing the following qualifications will be highly regarded:
- Prior operational or instructional experience within the Middle Eastern region.
- Previous experience providing instruction to non-native English speakers.
- Experience in courseware development, particularly utilizing methodologies such as UK JSP822 or ADDIE.
