A&P Mechanic (Mechanic to Pilot Sponsorship Program)
American Flyers presents the Mechanic to Pilot Sponsorship Program, an exceptional opportunity for aspiring pilots who are also skilled A&P mechanics. This unique program allows selected candidates to work as an A&P mechanic while simultaneously earning monthly flight training scholarships in addition to a monthly salary.
Participants in the program receive comprehensive training towards obtaining their Private, Instrument, and Commercial pilot licenses. Extensions may also be available to pursue Certified Flight Instructor certificates (CFIA & CFII). Upon successful completion of the program, opportunities for continued employment with American Flyers as a Flight Instructor or A&P mechanic are possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing 50-hour and 100-hour inspections on various aircraft models, including Cessna 172, Piper 100i, and Piper Seminoles.
- Executing scheduled and unscheduled daily maintenance tasks.
- Addressing Airworthiness Directives.
- Conducting powerplant and electrical troubleshooting.
- Performing general aircraft maintenance duties.
Qualifications:
- Must possess valid A&P certificates.
- Successful completion of an interview process is required.
- Authorization to work in the United States is necessary (work visa sponsorship is not available at this time).
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language is essential.
