Pilot – Instructor (IP) and Functional Check Flight (FCF) – MH-60R
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced and highly qualified MH-60R Pilot to serve as both an Instructor Pilot (IP) and Functional Check Flight (FCF) Pilot. The role involves conducting essential instructional and test flights to assess and validate aircraft performance following maintenance or modification, while also providing critical pilot training and proficiency sustainment. This position requires a skilled aviator capable of operating independently and contributing significantly to flight operations and maintenance support.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Pilots and navigates the MH-60R helicopter during instructional and functional check flights.
- Provides comprehensive pilot training and ensures proficiency standards are met (IP duties).
- Assists designated RSNF FCF Pilots throughout all phases of maintenance functional check flights, including briefing, preflight, flight execution, post-flight procedures, and necessary documentation.
- Coordinates effectively with maintenance contractors to troubleshoot in-flight discrepancies and verify the effectiveness of maintenance actions or repairs through ground and flight checks.
- Guides and supports the management of an approved MH-60R Flight Operations Program, ensuring strict compliance with Navy flight manuals, instructions, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and local directives.
Required Qualifications:
- Must hold a designation as a Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC).
- Possesses extensive MH-60R Instructor Pilot (IP) experience.
- Past designation as an MH-60R Instructor Pilot and Functional Check Flight Pilot is mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to perform all duties and responsibilities independently.
- Minimum of 550 total flight hours is required.
- Minimum of 50 Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC) hours in the MH-60R.
- Minimum of 100 hours of MH-60R FCF/Maintenance test flight experience.
- Must possess a Secret security clearance.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Candidates must successfully pass an aeronautical/flight physical. The role requires physical activities including climbing, standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and crouching.
