Pilot (Functional Check Flight) – MH-60R/MH-60S
Amentum seeks a highly skilled and experienced Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC) to serve as a Functional Check Flight (FCF) Pilot for MH-60R/MH-60S helicopters. The successful candidate will execute comprehensive test flights to rigorously evaluate aircraft proficiency following maintenance or modifications.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct all phases of MH-60R helicopter functional check flights, including pre-flight briefings, pre-flight inspections, flight checks, post-flight assessments, and meticulous documentation.
- Collaborate with maintenance contractors to troubleshoot in-flight discrepancies and verify the effectiveness of maintenance actions and repairs through ground and flight checks. This includes assisting RSNF designated FCF Pilots in all aspects of their duties.
- Provide guidance and support in the management of the approved MH-60R Flight Operations Program, ensuring strict adherence to Navy flight manuals, instructions, directives, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and local regulations.
- Pilot and navigate the MH-60R helicopter during functional check flights.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Designation as a Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC).
- Prior experience as an MH-60R or MH-60S Functional/Maintenance Check Pilot is mandatory; current designation is highly preferred. Prior instructor experience is desirable.
- Proven ability to independently perform all assigned duties.
- Minimum of 550 total flight hours, 50 HAC hours in the MH-60R or MH-60S, and 100 hours of MH-60R or MH-60S FCF/maintenance test flight experience.
- Active Secret security clearance is required.
Physical Requirements:
Successful completion of an aeronautical/flight physical is mandatory. The position requires physical capabilities including climbing, standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and crouching.
