Pilot Training Program Director – Alaska Airlines

Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning and implementation of Flight Operations Training, encompassing project assessment and comprehensive strategy development.
- Design and execute innovative, long-term training projects that significantly improve pilot training programs.
- Develop a long-term, global training strategy, demonstrating a thorough understanding of complex FAA guidance and its application across diverse fleet types and operational divisions.
- Oversee the seamless transition between fleet training programs, accounting for multiple aircraft types and their operational nuances.
- Provide regulatory guidance and oversight to the Boeing AQP and Airbus N&O training departments.
- Collaborate with senior management and process owners to formulate long-range strategies supporting key training initiatives and AQP across various fleets.
- Independently leverage expert knowledge of training and strategic planning to create a unique training program offering Alaska Airlines a distinct competitive advantage while adhering to performance objectives.
- Ensure comprehensive stakeholder engagement in plan development, initiating and facilitating Safety Risk Analysis sessions to document planning and comparative risk evaluations.
- Cultivate strong relationships with training and operational division partners within Alaska and Horizon.
- Collaborate with financial and planning teams to support divisional budgets, variance reviews, and economic analyses for capital and expense projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Managing Director.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ten years of experience in pilot training and program management.
- Bachelor's degree, or an additional two years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including financial analysis and spend management planning.
- 1500 hours as Captain and Check Pilot in 121 operations.
- Proven ability to influence cross-departmental adoption of company strategies.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships.
- Comprehensive knowledge of FAA guidance and its practical application.
- Experience facilitating meetings and delivering compelling presentations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Demonstrated change management skills and ability to challenge the status quo.
Preferred:
- 121 pilot management experience

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $147,400 - $228,400 annually (Note: Hiring typically occurs below the top of the range). Salary is determined by factors including location, experience, skillset, and internal equity.
