Flight Training Instructor - Embark on a Journey with Airbus
Airbus, a global pioneer in the aerospace industry, seeks an experienced and dedicated Flight Training Instructor to join its dynamic team at the Airbus Training Center (ATC) in Miami, Florida.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the training of future generations of pilots within a state-of-the-art facility. The ATC Miami boasts a custom-designed 110,000-square-foot complex, equipped with six full-flight simulators, innovative computer-based training classrooms, and cabin door and slide trainers, all meticulously simulating the A320, A330, A340, and A350 XWB aircraft families.
As a Flight Training Instructor, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging and effective ground, systems integration, and flight training for Airbus and airline courses, covering areas such as Crew Resource Management, Threat and Error Management, Competency-Based Training and Assessment, and Evidence-Based Training.
- Instructing flight crew transition, certification, cross-cockpit qualification, line-oriented simulation, and recurrent courses, adhering to Airbus and regulatory standards.
- Utilizing the full range of ATC resources, including software, classroom tools, and written materials, to ensure a comprehensive and enriching learning experience for trainees.
- Evaluating trainee progress and providing constructive feedback, identifying areas requiring additional training to achieve required competency levels.
- Maintaining meticulous trainee progress documentation and ensuring its timely submission.
- Remaining current on all relevant materials and information, including, but not limited to, the FCTP, FITB, FCOM, QRH, and email updates.
- Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of courseware and content, proposing innovative solutions to enhance instructional effectiveness.
- Maintaining proficiency and qualification on assigned Airbus aircraft versions.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A High School Diploma (required) with a preference for candidates holding a BS/BA degree.
- A minimum of three years of airline experience, showcasing a strong understanding of aviation operations and best practices.
- An FAA ATP or Commercial Instrument Rating Multi-Engine with an Airbus "Fly By Wire" aircraft type rating.
- A minimum of 4,000 flight hours (5,000 preferred), demonstrating substantial experience in various flight conditions.
- A minimum of 1,500 hours in jet transport category aircraft and 1,500 hours as pilot in command, reflecting advanced piloting skills and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English to conduct effective instruction and briefings.
- Proficiency in operating computers, iPads, and relevant software, including Airbus and Google Workspace, and FSTDs within the Airbus network.
This is a temporary contract position with the potential for extension or adjustment based on operational needs. Successful candidates will be employed by a third-party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
