1.1Your working environment:

The Airbus Training Center (ATC) in Miami provides flight and maintenance crew training for Airbus airline customers – primarily for those based in the Americas. The custom-designed, 110,000-square-foot complex trains more than 2,000 cadets each year in a range of (six) full-flight simulators, innovative computer-based training classrooms, and cabin door and slide trainers – all simulating the A320, A330, A340 and A350 XWB families of aircraft. In Miami you’ll also find the Airbus Latin America headquarters. A team of 60 employees there provides sales, marketing, contracts, customer support and communications for the region’s commercial aircraft, helicopters and space & defense divisions.

1.2 Your challenges:

Teach, observe, assess and grade Airbus and airline Courses as assigned – 90%

  • Conduct ground, systems integration and flight training; to include Crew Resource Management, Threat and Error Management and Competency Based Training and Assessment /Evidence Based Training courses, for flight crew transition, certification, cross-cockpit qualification, line-oriented simulation and recurrent courses and/or other training required by Airbus or responsible authorities.
  • Become proficient with all Training Center resources, e.g. software, classroom tools, written materials etc. as necessary to teach assigned courses.
  • Evaluate trainee(s) progress gaining the skills and knowledge during the assigned course. Make decisions on additional training, as necessary, for trainee(s) to achieve required competency. Timely and accurately document trainee progress files.
  • Continually review materials and information for updated information and procedures; to include but not limited to the FCTP, FITB, FCOM, QRH and email updates.
  • Review and recommend changes in courseware or course content to improve the overall effectiveness of instruction.
  • Maintain competency and qualification on Airbus version(s) assigned by the Director, Flight Training.

1.3Your boarding pass:

Education:

  • High School Graduated Required
  • BS/BA preferred

Experience:

  • 3 Year minimum airline experience

Licensure/Certifications:

  • A320 Type Rating preferred.
  • FAA ATP or Commercial Instrument Rating Multi Engine with Airbus "Fly By Wire" aircraft type rating
  • 5,000 hours as a pilot preferred; 4,000 required
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours in jet transport category aircraft
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours as pilot in command

Knowledge, Skills and Demonstrated Capabilities:

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Able to communicate effectively in fluent English to conduct instruction and briefings.
  • Able to write progress reports for submission to the airlines or authorities.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Able to operate computers (including iPads;, computer software (including Airbus and Google Workspace); and FSTDs within the Airbus network including satellite training centers

Citizenship:

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America .
