Cabin Crew Member - Air Arabia

Overview & Job Purpose

Air Arabia is actively seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join its dynamic team as a Cabin Crew Member. This pivotal role involves acting as a key brand ambassador, committed to enhancing customer loyalty and projecting a positive corporate image at all times. The Cabin Crew Member is primarily responsible for delivering unparalleled customer service while ensuring the utmost safety and comfort of all passengers throughout the entire flight cycle. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain peak operational readiness, adhering strictly to company policies and adopted procedures.

Key Responsibilities

The Cabin Crew Member's comprehensive responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operational Readiness & Professional Conduct

  • Ensuring timely attendance, impeccable grooming, and full fitness for all assigned flights.
  • Actively participating in pre-flight briefings to assimilate flight details, role assignments, security checks, and boarding procedures.
  • Maintaining necessary professional and safety knowledge by attending recurrent training, emergency procedures workshops, and ensuring current licensing.
  • Contributing effectively to team efforts by accomplishing related results and achieving allocated sales targets and objectives.

Safety & Emergency Procedures

  • Instructing passengers on essential safety procedures to guarantee their continuous safety and comfort throughout the flight.
  • Identifying potential safety and security risks, collaborating with the Cabin Supervisor to implement remedial actions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Administering first aid to passengers where necessary.
  • Promptly informing the Cabin Supervisor, Flight Crew, and Captain of any irregularities or malfunctions.

Exceptional Passenger Experience

  • Warmly welcoming passengers and assisting with boarding formalities; accurately entering necessary data into the aircraft logbook as per Air Arabia and GCAA/CAA adopted procedures.
  • Providing consistent, excellent customer service by attending to individual pre-bookings, requests, and diverse passenger needs.
  • Identifying and assisting passengers experiencing stress or difficulties, following detailed policies and procedures outlined in the Operations Manual.
  • Actively promoting on-board meals, products, and the "Charity Cloud" program to maximize on-board revenue and achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Ensuring the proper and secure handling of all cash and credit card payments received against individual sales and donations.

Aircraft Operations & Administrative Duties

  • Conducting comprehensive pre-flight checks to verify the sufficiency of supplies, emergency equipment, catering equipment, and other specified provisions prior to take-off; reporting any deficiencies to the Cabin Supervisor and/or Captain as appropriate.
  • Assisting in ensuring the aircraft cabin is thoroughly cleaned at transit stations and that adequate re-catering and duty-free products are provided before subsequent flights.
  • Ensuring an orderly and complete handover/takeover of the cabin to/from catering, cleaning, and/or maintenance staff.
  • Carrying out post-flight briefings and assessment reports as per adopted policies and procedures, including objective evaluation of the Cabin Supervisor, reporting any problems or discrepancies on the flight, and closing/sealing of duty-free containers.
  • Providing an account to the Cabin Supervisor for the conduct of passengers; capable of carrying out the duties of ‘Cabin Supervisor’ when designated as such by the Captain.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

To be considered for this vital role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Age & Physical Attributes

  • Age: Between 20 to 26 years for candidates without prior Cabin Crew experience; up to 33 years for experienced Cabin Crew members.
  • Minimum Height: 160 cm (Female), 168 cm (Male).
  • Weight: Must be in proportion to age and height.
  • Appearance: Clear skin with no visible marks or tattoos when wearing the cabin crew uniform.
  • Health: Medically and physically fit to perform all Cabin Crew duties, possessing good general health with no serious medical conditions or chronic diseases.
  • Swimming Ability: Capable of swimming with the aid of a flotation device.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: A Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate is acceptable; a Diploma in Travel/Tourism is considered an asset.
  • Training: Training in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Procedures is an added value.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Languages: Fluent in both written and spoken English is mandatory. Fluency in Arabic is preferred.

Work Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply for this role.
  • Previous experience as Cabin Crew or in a customer service role within the Airlines/Aviation or hospitality industries will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Possession of an active Cabin Crew license is beneficial.
  • Capable of working flexible shift patterns and for extended working hours.
  • Demonstrates high flexibility and adaptability to frequent operational changes and busy schedules.
  • Proven ability to contribute effectively and successfully deliver against established policies, procedures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
