Cabin Crew Job Description
Job Purpose
The Cabin Crew member serves as an essential ambassador, dedicated to enhancing the overall customer experience. This role is pivotal in fostering customer loyalty and upholding a positive corporate image at all times. The Cabin Crew is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers throughout the flight journey. Maintaining readiness and fitness for duty is required to ensure productivity aligns with established company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct:
- Ensures punctuality, adherence to grooming standards, physical fitness, and legal compliance for assigned flights.
- Attends pre-flight briefings to stay informed on flight specifics, role assignments, sales targets, security protocols, boarding procedures, and other relevant information.
Safety Measures:
- Educates passengers on safety procedures, consistently prioritizing their safety and comfort.
- Identifies potential safety and security risks and collaborates with the Cabin Supervisor to implement corrective actions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Administers first aid to passengers when necessary.
- Promptly reports any irregularities or malfunctions to the Cabin Supervisor, Flight Crew, and Captain as appropriate.
Customer Service:
- Welcomes passengers and assists with boarding processes, including entering necessary data into the aircraft log book according to established procedures.
- Provides continuous excellent customer service by attending to individual passenger needs, including pre-bookings and special requests.
- Identifies and supports passengers experiencing stress or difficulties, following guidelines detailed in the Operations Manual and other relevant instructions.
- Actively promotes on-board meals, products, and charity initiatives ("Charity Cloud") to maximize on-board revenue and contribute to individual and team sales targets.
- Handles cash and credit card payments securely and accurately for individual sales and donations.
Crosschecking and Reports:
- Conducts pre-flight checks to verify sufficient supplies, emergency equipment, catering provisions, and other specified items before departure.
- Reports any deficiencies found during checks to the Cabin Supervisor and/or Captain.
- Assists in ensuring the aircraft cabin is thoroughly cleaned during transit and that adequate re-catering and duty-free products are restocked before the next flight segment.
- Ensures an organized and complete handover or takeover of the cabin to or from catering, cleaning, or maintenance personnel.
- Completes post-flight briefings and assessment reports as per company policies; provides objective feedback on the Cabin Supervisor's performance, reports flight issues or discrepancies, and secures duty-free containers.
- Reports on passenger conduct to the Cabin Supervisor and performs Cabin Supervisor duties when designated by the Captain.
- Maintains professional and safety knowledge through regular attendance at recurrent training, emergency procedures courses, and educational workshops, ensuring current license validity.
- Contributes to team objectives by achieving allocated sales targets and overall results.
Requirements
- Age: Between 20 to 26 years for candidates without prior Cabin Crew experience; Up to 33 years for experienced Cabin Crew.
- Minimum Height: 160 cm (Female), 168 cm (Male).
- Weight: Must be in proportion to age and height.
- Clear skin with no visible marks or tattoos when wearing the uniform.
- Medically and physically fit to perform all Cabin Crew duties.
- Ability to swim with the aid of a flotation device.
Qualifications
- A Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate is acceptable; a Diploma in Travel/Tourism is considered advantageous.
- Training certifications in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Procedures are an added value.
- Must be fit to fly with good general health, free from serious medical conditions or chronic diseases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Fluency in Arabic is preferred.
Work Experience
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience as Cabin Crew or in a customer service role within the Airlines, Aviation, or Hospitality industries is considered an added value.
- Possession of an active cabin crew license is an advantage.
- Capable of working demanding shift patterns and extended hours.
- Demonstrates high flexibility and adaptability to frequent operational changes and busy schedules.
- Proven ability to contribute effectively and meet performance metrics (KPIs), policies, and procedures.
