Cabin Crew / Flight Attendant
Role Overview
Serving as a key ambassador for Air Arabia, the Cabin Crew member plays a vital role in fostering customer loyalty and upholding a positive corporate image. This is achieved by consistently enhancing the overall passenger experience. The Cabin Crew is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service while diligently ensuring passenger safety and comfort throughout every phase of the flight. Successful candidates must maintain full operational readiness and fitness, aligning productivity with established measures and company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct:
- Ensures timely attendance, proper grooming, fitness and legality of self for the assigned flights. Attends “Briefing” to ensure acknowledgement of flight details, distribution of roles, targets, security checks, boarding, etc.
Passenger Safety and Security:
- Ensures passengers are fully briefed on and adhere to all safety procedures, prioritizing their safety and comfort at all times.
- Proactively identifies potential safety and security risks, collaborating with the Cabin Supervisor to implement necessary corrective actions in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provides essential first aid assistance to passengers as required.
- Promptly communicates any irregularities or malfunctions to the Cabin Supervisor, Flight Crew, and Captain as appropriate.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight checks of emergency equipment, supplies, catering, and other specified items, reporting any deficiencies immediately.
Customer Service and In-flight Experience:
- Extends a warm welcome to passengers and facilitates smooth boarding processes.
- Maintains accurate entries in the aircraft log book in accordance with airline and regulatory procedures (GCAA/CAA).
- Delivers consistently high standards of customer service, attending to passenger pre-bookings, requests, and individual needs.
- Identifies and provides support to passengers experiencing stress or difficulties, following established operational policies and procedures.
Operational Duties and Revenue Generation:
- Contributes significantly to on-board revenue and the "Charity Cloud" program through effective promotion of available meals, products, and services, aiming to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Ensures the secure and accurate handling of cash and credit card payments for individual sales and donations.
- Assists in verifying the thorough cleanliness of the aircraft cabin during transit stops and confirms adequate provisioning of catering and duty-free products before departure.
- Oversees the systematic and complete handover/takeover of the cabin to or from catering, cleaning, and maintenance personnel.
- Participates in post-flight briefings and completes assessment reports according to established protocols, providing objective feedback on the Cabin Supervisor, reporting flight discrepancies, and managing the sealing of duty-free containers.
- Accounts to the Cabin Supervisor for passenger conduct and assumes the duties of Cabin Supervisor when designated by the Captain.
- Maintains professional competency and safety knowledge through regular attendance at recurrent training, emergency procedures training, educational workshops, and by ensuring current licensing is held.
- Actively contributes to team objectives by achieving allocated sales targets and related results.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Age: Candidates without prior Cabin Crew experience must be between 20 and 26 years old. Experienced Cabin Crew candidates may be up to 33 years old.
- Height: Minimum height of 160 cm for female candidates and 168 cm for male candidates is required.
- Weight: Must be in proportion to age and height.
- Appearance: Clear skin is essential, with no visible marks or tattoos when wearing the standard cabin crew uniform.
- Health & Fitness: Candidates must be medically and physically fit to perform all cabin crew duties. A good general health status without serious medical conditions or chronic diseases is necessary ("Fit to Fly"). The ability to swim with the aid of a flotation device is required.
- Education: A Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate is acceptable. A Diploma in Travel or Tourism is considered advantageous.
- Training: Training certifications in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Procedures are beneficial.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is expected.
- Languages: Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory. Fluency in Arabic is preferred.
- Experience: Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in cabin crew roles or customer service within the Airlines, Aviation, or Hospitality industries is considered an added value. Holding an active cabin crew license is an advantage.
- Work Attributes: Must demonstrate the capability to work in shift patterns, including extended hours, exhibiting high levels of flexibility and adaptability to frequent schedule changes and busy periods. The ability to contribute effectively and successfully meet established policies, procedures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is crucial.
