Job Purpose
The Cabin Crew Member serves as a dedicated ambassador for Air Arabia, committed to fostering exceptional customer loyalty and consistently promoting a positive corporate image. This is achieved by enhancing the overall customer experience throughout every flight cycle. The role demands the provision of outstanding customer service, alongside ensuring the utmost safety and comfort for all passengers. The incumbent must maintain operational readiness and fitness, ensuring productivity aligns with company standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The Cabin Crew Member is responsible for a comprehensive range of duties, encompassing operational readiness, safety compliance, customer service excellence, and meticulous reporting.
Operational Conduct
- Ensures timely attendance, impeccable grooming, and a high level of physical fitness, along with strict adherence to all legal requirements for assigned flights.
- Participates actively in pre-flight briefings to assimilate flight details, understand role distributions, review targets, conduct security checks, and facilitate efficient boarding procedures.
Safety and Security Measures
- Instructs passengers comprehensively on essential safety procedures, meticulously ensuring their safety and comfort at all times during flight.
- Identifies potential safety and security risks, collaborating with the Cabin Supervisor to implement prompt remedial actions in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Administers first aid to passengers when necessary, responding effectively to in-flight medical situations.
- Promptly informs the Cabin Supervisor, Flight Crew, and Captain of any irregularities or malfunctions observed during operations.
Customer Service Excellence
- Extends a warm welcome to passengers and provides assistance with boarding formalities, including the accurate entry of necessary data into the aircraft log book as per Air Arabia, GCAA, and CAA adopted procedures.
- Delivers consistent and excellent customer service by attending to individual pre-bookings, requests, and diverse passenger needs.
- Identifies and provides empathetic assistance to passengers experiencing stress or difficulties, adhering to the policies and procedures detailed in the Operations Manual and other relevant instructions.
- Contributes to maximizing on-board revenue and the “Charity Cloud” program through the efficient promotion of meals, products, and charity services, thereby achieving individual and team sales targets.
- Ensures the proper and secure handling of all cash and credit card payments processed for individual sales and donations.
Operational Management and Reporting
- Carries out thorough pre-flight checks to verify the presence and sufficiency of supplies, emergency equipment, catering provisions, and other specified equipment prior to departure. Any deficiencies are reported promptly to the Cabin Supervisor and/or Captain.
- Assists in ensuring the aircraft cabin is meticulously cleaned at transit stations and that adequate re-catering and duty-free products are replenished before subsequent flights.
- Facilitates an orderly and complete handover/takeover of the cabin to/from catering, cleaning, and/or maintenance staff.
- Carries out post-flight briefings and completes assessment reports in accordance with adopted policies and procedures, including objective evaluations of Cabin Supervisors, reporting any flight discrepancies, and ensuring the proper closing and sealing of duty-free containers.
- Provides comprehensive accounts to the Cabin Supervisor regarding passenger conduct and is prepared to assume the duties of 'Cabin Supervisor' when designated by the Captain.
- Maintains professional and safety knowledge through continuous engagement in recurrent training, emergency procedures training, educational workshops, and by ensuring a current professional license.
- Contributes actively to team efforts by achieving allocated sales targets and objectives, and by successfully delivering against policies, procedures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Essential Requirements
- Age: Between 20 to 26 years for candidates without prior Cabin Crew experience; up to 33 years for experienced Cabin Crew.
- Height: Minimum 160 cm for female candidates, and 168 cm for male candidates.
- Weight: Must be in proportion to age and height.
- Appearance: Clear skin with no visible marks or tattoos when wearing the cabin crew uniform.
- Physical Fitness: Medically and physically fit to perform all Cabin Crew duties.
- Swimming Ability: Capable of swimming with the aid of a flotation device.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: A Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate is acceptable; a diploma in Travel/Tourism is considered advantageous.
- Training: Prior training in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Procedures is an added value.
- Health: Fit to fly, possessing good general health, and free from serious medical conditions or chronic diseases.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Languages: Fluent in both written and spoken English is mandatory. Fluency in Arabic is preferred.
Experience and Competencies
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply for this role.
- Previous experience as Cabin Crew or in a customer service role within the Airlines, Aviation, or Hospitality industries is considered a significant asset.
- Possession of an active Cabin Crew license is an advantage.
- Capable of working flexible shift patterns and for extended working hours.
- Demonstrates high flexibility and adaptability to frequent changes and demanding schedules.
- Proven ability to contribute effectively and successfully deliver against established policies, procedures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
