Position Summary
Aery Aviation, LLC is actively seeking multiple highly experienced and dedicated Pilots in Command (PIC) to operate Learjet aircraft based in Cleveland, OH. This role involves performing crucial Part 135 medevac operations, requiring exceptional airmanship, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to safety and operational excellence. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, contributing to life-saving missions and upholding Aery Aviation's reputation for superior aviation services.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe and efficient conduct of all flight operations in strict compliance with FAA Part 135 regulations and the company’s General Operations Manual (GOM).
- Proactively review flight missions to guarantee safe operations and optimal mission performance.
- Interact respectfully and professionally with clients, medical teams, patients, coworkers, vendors, and all other personnel.
- Participate actively in monthly and quarterly safety and training events, including those with hospital partners, focusing on safe aircraft operations, improved efficiencies, and staying abreast of industry best practices.
- Attend monthly staff meetings with the Flight Department and Maintenance Manager to ensure seamless coordination.
- Prepare aircraft meticulously for daily flights, ensuring impeccable cleanliness, readiness of the mission-critical profile, and proper stocking of all necessary supplies.
- Continuously monitor dynamic weather forecasts and current weather situations, adjusting flight plans as necessary.
- Complete all pre-flight duties, including comprehensive weather briefings, precise weight and balance calculations, and any additional requirements for Part 135 operating procedures.
- Maintain a consistently professional appearance.
- Continuously demonstrate leadership and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Comprehend and execute complex operational procedures with precision and accuracy.
- Maintain and continuously enhance education, certifications, knowledge, and experience within the medical aviation field to align with the latest industry trends.
- Work closely with the Program Manager and client director on new initiatives, training events, industry engagements, and cultivating strong relationships with medical teams.
- Assist medical crew with the careful loading and unloading of critical care patients.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Possession of a Type Rating in Turbojet Aircraft.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours of total pilot time in fixed-wing aircraft.
- Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of FAA regulations, specifically CFR Part 135.
- Active participation in a DOT-mandated Drug Testing Program.
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Clean FAA record with no violations or accidents.
- Valid U.S. Passport.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Demonstrated experience in FAA Part 135 operations or as a Flight Instructor.
- Physical capability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Certifications/Licenses:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management or Aviation.
- Exceptional Cockpit Resource Management (CRM) skills.
- Proven ability to establish priorities, work autonomously, and achieve objectives without direct supervision.
- Adept at identifying, handling, and resolving technical issues and problems efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of aircraft systems and limitations for all aircraft flown.
- Prior experience in FAA Part 135 operations is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to work effectively in and foster a positive team environment.
- Willingness to reside or relocate within a two-hour radius of Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport (KBKL).
- Flexibility to work various shifts and schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational demands require.
