Position Summary
Advanced Air seeks a highly skilled and professional Second in Command (SIC) for a King Air 350 based in Phoenix, Arizona. This position supports the company's Essential Air Service communities and on-demand charter operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong capacity for multitasking and complex decision-making while ensuring a world-class travel experience for all passengers. The SIC is instrumental in upholding the rigorous standards of Advanced Air flight operations while interacting professionally with charter customers, aircraft owners, and airline travelers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Pilot-in-Command during all phases of flight in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform thorough visual pre-flight and post-flight inspections for each flight.
- Assume primary responsibility for the safety of passengers, crew, cargo, and the aircraft in the event the Pilot-in-Command is incapacitated.
- Manage and execute all customer service aspects of each flight leg, including passenger coordination, refueling, and catering arrangements.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), the Company Operations Manual, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain accurate flight and duty records and report any aircraft maintenance discrepancies in accordance with company policy.
- Proactively participate in the safety management system by identifying, reporting, and mitigating hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pilot-in-Command or Chief Pilot.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Commercial Pilot Certificate: Airplane Multi-Engine Land.
- Current First-Class Medical Certificate.
- Valid U.S. Passport with at least six months of remaining validity.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations and aircraft maintenance procedures.
- Strong customer focus and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Must be able to pass an FAA drug and alcohol screening and background check.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Minimum Flight Time:
- 1200 hours total time
- 500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
- 500 hours cross-country
- 100 hours night
- 75 hours instrument (with a minimum of 50 in actual flight)
- 50 hours multi-engine fixed-wing
Preferred Qualifications:
- CFI, CFII, and MEI Certificates.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Must successfully pass all oral/written exams and competency checks as required by FAR 135.293.
- Must maintain IFR proficiency and complete all required checks as outlined in FAR 135.297 and 135.299.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary: $55,000.00. A 12-month training contract is required upon completion of initial training.
- Schedule: Flight crews work a mixed schedule providing an average of 10 hard days off per month, with days off bid by seniority.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to work in a dynamic environment with exposure to varying temperatures, altitudes, and intermittent sounds typical of airfield operations. The position involves working in confined spaces and requires the physical ability to climb, manipulate, push, pull, and lift objects in excess of 150 lbs. Candidates must possess the digital dexterity for aircraft inspections and be capable of executing flights of up to 4.5 hours within a 14-hour duty period.
