Job Summary

Wizz Air is seeking a Chief Cabin Crew to oversee all aspects of cabin operations. Reporting to the Head of Operations & Accountable Manager (AM), the Chief Cabin Crew is responsible for ensuring the safety, legality, economy, security, and efficiency of all cabin operations. This role involves leadership, strategic planning, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. The Deputy is the Cabin Crew Base Manager or Cabin Crew Associate Base Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Cabin Operations with transparency, fostering a team environment built on honesty, respect, and integrity.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of Cabin Crew Members to support all scheduled flights.
  • Coordinate with the Manager of Safety, Compliance, and Security to maintain safety, security, and compliance standards in daily operations.
  • Manage the distribution of information regarding accidents, incidents, and other reported occurrences.
  • Uphold required standards of safety and customer service among Cabin Crew.
  • Oversee Cabin Operations headcount, manage recruitment processes to meet current and future needs, and ensure consistent recruitment and career opportunities across all bases.
  • Ensure that all positions within Cabin Operations, particularly those relevant to safety and security, are filled by personnel with appropriate knowledge, skills, training, experience, attitude, and values.
  • Define and implement Standard Operating Procedures for Cabin Crew, ensuring consistent standards and service across all bases.
  • Integrate legal requirements related to Cabin Operations into organizational processes and procedures.
  • Participate in OPS meetings and conduct quarterly meetings with management members of Cabin Operations, Crew Training Manager, and Manager of Safety, Compliance, and Security to discuss operational issues and procedures.
  • Regularly participate in HFO meetings in collaboration with the Crew Training Manager.
  • Maintain effective communication between Cabin Crew and Flight Crew, liaising with HFO.
  • Cooperate with the Operations Control Centre and Operations Planning Department for rostering, ensuring sufficient Cabin Crew numbers and managing standby and HP systems.
  • Collaborate with the HR department on employment matters and the establishment and implementation of corporate policies.
  • Liaise with the Marketing Department on in-flight branding initiatives, ensuring announcements align with company policies and operations.
  • Manage ongoing Crew performance and motivation.
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant sections of company operations manuals, air operator certificates, and operations specifications.
  • Liaise with the Crew Training Manager on all training procedures and policies pertaining to Cabin Operations and oversee Cabin Crew training.
  • In conjunction with the Crew Training Department, ensure a current and approved Cabin Attendant training program.
  • Supervise the issuance of new Crew Orders and Crew Information to Cabin Crew.
  • Ensure a current and approved Cabin Crew Manual is accessible to all Cabin Crew during duty.
  • Action and distribute accident, incident, and other occurrence reports.
  • Undertake any responsibilities delegated by the Accountable Manager.
  • Serve as the liaison between Cabin Operations and other organizational departments.
  • Ensure the accuracy and currency of all Cabin Operations Department related pages on the company intranet site.
  • Maintain relations with the competent authority regarding Cabin Crew policies and procedures.
  • Engage with original equipment manufacturers and other external entities relevant to Cabin Operations.
  • Monitor all health and safety matters impacting operations and take appropriate action to address any arising issues.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 4-6+ years of overall experience in a similar position.
  • Advantageous: A minimum of 1 year as a Senior Cabin Attendant at Wizz Air, or 3 years at Wizz Air with at least 6 months as a Senior Cabin Attendant.

Hard Skills

  • Requirements as per OMM 3.3.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Detailed understanding of safety principles surrounding cabin operating processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of the principles of cabin crew rostering and fatigue management processes.
  • Understanding of departmental operating policies, procedures, and processes.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

Language

Fluent English (both written and spoken).
